Format: Two Five Team Pool Divisions – The winner in each pool will wrestle for first and second place, and so on.

Awards: Trophy to Top 3 overall Teams. Individual Medals to Top 3 teams

Entry Fee: $200 Entry fee should be paid by Dec 1st. The entry fee can be paid the day of the tournament. Please make checks payable to “John S. Battle Wrestling” or mail to Athletic Director: Coach Tim Shoals, 21264 Battle Hill Dr, Bristol, VA 24202

• Hospitality Room for coaches/workers
• T-Shirts will be on sale

Tournament Schedule: The Tournament will be held at John S. Battle High School and will be wrestled on up to 4 mats. Weigh-ins will be held between 8 a.m. – 9:00 a.m. Wrestling will begin at 10:00 a.m. There will be a Coaches Meeting at 9:30 am.  Everyone will wrestle to determine the order of their "pool". We will then wrestle the 5th-10th place dual matches on 3 mats. When those complete, we will wrestle 1st - 4th place on 2 mats to end the day.

There will be no set lunch or breaks so everyone can eat as time allows or during their "bye" in their pool.

Committed teams thus far: John Battle, Virginia High, Daniel Boone, Lebanon (returning champ)

    • also was told coady auston applied, he served as defensive coordinator for greenfield under don pitt several years ago before going to Obion county  
    • TSSAA restrictions for hiring non-faculty coaches have been removed for over a year at this point. In the past a non-faculty person had to be "grandfathered" by being an assistant coach for five years, being fingerprinted, and having a background check run per TSSAA rules... since those were rescinded, the board of directors for the school district are responsible for any/all restrictions on hiring non-faculty personnel. I guess what I'm saying to you is that if you really wanted what you posted, it's already possible as long as your local BOE will allow for it.
    • stop it, rlh. you’re gonna get me all misty eyed and sentimental.    i see seven fairly regularly. ….but slim shady, that’s like spotting bigfoot on main street. you just hope he doesn’t spot you.
