If any high school teams are looking for an out of state tournament, we host North Carolina's best 1 day tournament, Foard TigerLand will be Dec 19 in 2020.  Last year we had 4 state championship teams, 12 state champs, 45 state placers from 4 states.  We also have a jv tournament at the same time.

Also, if anyone is looking to re-locate to North Carolina and coach, Foard HS may be able to help.  We have a few teaching openings this coming year, and can take a non-faculty coach as well.  It's a great place to live, with the weather having with 4 distinct seasons.  There are professional, skilled labor, and blue collar jobs in the Newton & Hickory area. We are within 4 hours of beach, within 1 hour of the mountains, and within 30 minutes of gorgeous lakes.  We also have 2 solid wrestling clubs with the best in our state within 45 minutes that compete nationally. You can teach/coach at a great school with a great wrestling tradition.  We have a NHSCA All Americans, and a NHSCA National Champ, to go along with our own year round wrestling room and locker room.  This year, we had 3 state finalist, and all 3 will be back next year. We have 35-40 HS wrestlers, 25-30 MS wrestlers, and 35-50 youth wrestlers.  We travel during the off season to Virginia Beach, Pigeon Forge, Tenn, and Boone to get some good competition and have fun as a team!  We have been fortunate to win 5 state titles and 1 runners-up championship in the past 10 years, and were the only unbeaten team in our state beating 3/4 champs from the other divisions.  We also have lots of D1 wrestling all around us: Appalachian State, Gardner Webb, UNC-CH, NC State, Duke, and lots of D2 schools.  If you are looking to re-locate, it's a great place to live and raise up a family!

    • That was after the 2nd year of a 4 year cycle.  Since Covid we have been on a 2 year cycle.  So, there really isn't a "mid cycle" reclassification this time.   Idk if there's anything in place to address the issue of a school closing.  My guess is, nothing can be done.  This would be akin to the 1st year of a 4 year cycle, where a school has the 20% +/- but not allowed or even have the option to move up or down.
    • No reasonable lawyer would take up this case. I am not a lawyer, but I know school law in and out.  Similar situations just like this play out thousands of times each year across the country, even at the college level (i.e. Ole Miss)  The Plaintiff's never win...ever.  If I am wrong, please provide a legal precedent for me. I will be waiting.  https://www.espn.com/college-football/story/_/id/39431892/judge-drops-ole-miss-player-lawsuit-lane-kiffin
    • Yes Justin Cruse was named head coach
    • It used to be, I think it still is, a change of 20% +/- gives reason to reclassify. Schools can choose to play up classifications but not down. Here is the mid cycle reclassification info on TSSAA.org When Memphis East changed from a regular public school to an "all-optional" school in 2017 the would've dropped to A but chose to stay in AAA in basketball (baseball, and softball) Penny was still coaching there and with the players they had they would've beaten A teams by 40 and slept walked to the championship. Other Memphis schools stayed in their classifications (mostly in basketball) until the next reclassification cycle. Of course this is the same time that a 4th class was added basketball.
