LouPickney
Father Ryan sent this out via email a few moments ago: Knox Catholic at Father Ryan, which had been slated for this Friday 10/30, has been canceled. -----Father Ryan-Knoxville Catholic Football Game Cancelled After consulting with Father Ryan’s Medical Advisory Committee, the Diocese of Nashville, and the administration of Knoxville Catholic, both schools have decided to cancel this Friday’s football game. We know the teams and their fans are disappointed to miss an opportunity to see these two strong Catholic programs play. However, with the increase in COVID-19 cases in this area and knowing that the outcome of the game has no bearing on either team’s postseason schedule and seeding, both schools’ leaders and coaches felt that it would be wise to cancel the game. This will minimize the exposure for any members of the teams and their staffs. Father Ryan’s next game will be at home on November 13 in the first round of the playoffs. Father Ryan continues to enforce its protocols for masks, social distancing, and sanitizing for everyone who comes onto the campus. The school also monitors daily the COVID-19 cases among its campus community. Information about those results is published each Friday and is available at fatherryan.org/coronavirus-updates. Thank you.
JRB
I saw the announcement earlier on Twitter where KC was looking for a local game to be played in eastern TN. It sounds like KC did not want the travel expense being they could not make the playoffs. Edited October 26, 2020 by JRB typo
LouPickney
I didn't realize until I saw this video how impressive Father Ryan's first TD against Cane Ridge was. Great precision on the throw by QB #7 and impressive concentration by WR #6 to bring in the reception in the back of the end zone. If that pass falls incomplete, it's a turnover on downs and Cane Ridge gets the ball up 7-0. And it wasn't like the Ravens played it poorly. QB #7 knew he was about to be hit as he threw the ball, and there were two CRHS defenders in the vicinity with WR #6 as the pass arrived. Footballfan615
And an incredible catch by #6 keeping it in bounds! Here is another great angle.

I don't know how true that was but I doubt Catholic would have had any issues traveling to Fr. Ryan to play.
