Best freshman catchers in Mid-State

Best ones I have seen (at least in summer ball) are:

 

Paul LeGuenec - Father Ryan

Josh Dunn - MBA

Boomer Geoffrion - Overton

if so he was very good in Dixie Ball? Wondered where he was at, where did he play summer ball..

May have been. I know he's only been playing here in the mid-state for about 2-3 years. The family is originally from Louisiana. He and Josh Dunn were the 2 catchers for the 14-U USA Warriors in the MSABA.

No doubt Jacob Bratcher from Warren County is one of the best. Hard nose kid with all of the tools. Will get significant PT as a Frosh with so many games on the schedule.

Daniel Albarran from Forrest is solid behind the plate.

I agree w/ daa21. Daniel is a buddy of mine and he's pretty good. He is a great blocker and framer and he has a descent arm. Go Rockets!

Josh is good. he's on my summer and school team. he will contribute to the varsity team next year with his bat and glve behind the plate.

Adam Shaw from Macon Co. is pretty tough.

I watched the Sycamore/Waverly match and Waverly's jv catcher looked very strong behind the plate. Im not sure of his name, his number was 21. He didnt let one ball by him all night and was right on the money throwing out runners.He will be a strong varsity player for the Tigers. I saw him bat this summer in county league and he went 4 for 4 the game I was in.

Kyle Vari ,likely, one of the best catchers in the state. now a freshman at Riverdale high. He's tough, he's got an arm, he's a wall behind the plate. What pitcher would not want a receiver like him. But he is in close competition with his backup Drew Richardson. Drew would be starting at probally every high school in the state if it wasn't for his tough competition. But Drew has found his spot for now at third for the warriors. Because of arm problems, Richardson has seen little work on the hill. But look for him in the future on the next level and even the next.
