Sidetrain
I'm sure alot of you have done experiments with the best ball to put in a pitching machine in the cage. I have been told that the hard jugs ball will damage your bats. I also been told that the non-sting will not. Last fall I put reg. softball in and they did not last long because of the wheel tearing the leather, plus the girls said that it was hurting their wrist. Any help Coaches  [Edited by Sidetrain on 1-19-03 1:09P]
rSquared
Sidetrain: We have a Jugs softball machine and we use the Jugs Sting-free Yellow Dimpled Softballs, both indoors and out. We usually buys ours through a local sporting goods dealer, but softballsales lists them at $27.95 per dozen.(softballsales.com or maybe just softball.com) These balls hold up pretty well and have proved to be the best ones that we have found. ---rSquared
BIGDOG31
Use the jugs balls but don't use your good bats in the cage with a machine. Use your last year's bat or one that has a dent, etc. Save your good bat for the game. the dog howls....
