A good game by both schools. THe intensity was really fun to watch. The Mustangs hit 2 key free throws with 6 seconds left. ANd they remain unbeaten. John Ferguson had 27 points and Corey Brewer had 19 points.

In OT, Portland started out with a 5-0 run and Lipscomb slowly came back only to go down again by 2. On the next inbounds play, Josh Stephen made an excellent play by stealing the ball and throwing it off one of Portland's players while falling out of bounds. Later, with clock winding down, Alan Eatherly drives to the basket, one-on-one with his man. 10...9...8...FOUL. HE HITS 2 CLUTCH FREE THROWS TO PUT THE MUSTANGS AHEAD BY 1, 55-54. PORTLAND GETS THE BALL IN AFTER THE 2ND MADE FREE THROW AND BRINGS IT DOWN COURT. #33 FOR PORTLAND...SMITH, DRIVES TO THE BASKET AND LOOKS TO HAVE A CHANCE AT THE MAKE. 3...2...JOSH STEPHEN SWATS HIS SHOT WITH 1.1 SECONDS TO GO. PORTLAND TO INBOUND...THE LOB TO FERGUSON, HE DOESN'T EVEN JUMP. BALLGAME. Josh Stephen had yet ANOTHER big game of I think 22 points and 15 rebounds. Without Elliot Wood (starter) and Seth Martin (excellent senior forward who comes off the bench), the Mustangs still can play. They have great bench play from Mantlo, Pennington and Stinson. Mustangs play again Thursday night at Greenbriar and Friday at Hume Fogg. GREAT GAME.
