So the facts can be stated, I did ask Coach Roche about this and they did defeat Franklin in the first round of the regions in 2000. They then lost to Overton in the region final, and lost to Beech in the substates. I know Coach Roche very well, so any questions you have about this, dont be afraid to ask. About Amber Steen, I truely believe she is one of the best pitchers in the state, she just needs a supporting cast, as a earlier post stated.

Coach Roche's memory is fading. It might have been 2001, but it was NOT 2000! I know him pretty well myself. I talked to him Friday, Saturday, and Monday night. I guess all this free time he has during the day makes his mind wander. Since he beat MY TEAM in the district finals we went to Brentwood and lost 3-2 in the bottom of the 7th. Hunters Lane lost at home to OVERTON. As I said before, it may have been in 2001, but it was not 2000.

In 2001, Franklin defeated Brentwood to finish 2nd in 11-AAA and advance to the regionals. In the opening round of the regionals, Hunters Lane defeated Franklin and Overton defeated Antioch. In the Regional championship game, Sara Hickerson and Amber Steen were locked in a 0-0 pitcher's duel through 6 innings. Overton scored 3 unearned runs in the top of the 7th and went on to win 3-0. Overton then defeated Lavergne to advance to the state. Hunters Lane lost to Beech in the sub-state.

    • It was not ACHS at all, they have zero reason to worry about Clinton.  It had to do with a kid (non football player)  that had a charge and appeared in front of the juvenile judge.  The judge saw that the kid was way behind credit wise for his grade and told him to reappear in a month with a plan to graduate.  When the kid reappeared he had more that twice the credits than one month before.  The judge called BS and contacted the school.  That is what happened.
    • I believe the Covington Chargers travel to Trenton Peabody for a scrimmage today? Anyone going to this? Curious how the Chargers will do.
    • Good ole Bradley Zulliger. He was a really good QB @ OR. Fun to watch.  Wore #15 and was like a mini Tebow, with the exception of being right handed. He could take a pounding and keep on ticking. Played with a collapsed lung against Powell that year. Tough as nails.
    • They should be pretty good in year two for Rang.  Replacing most of the offensive production losing Dozier, Hayward and Rembert , but they're are skill kids in place ready for their shot.  I know I say this every year, but the o line should show improvement after two years in Rang and Kevin Day's weight program.  I still would favor West over Plow and OR come November.  The Rebs will have to grow up a bunch between now and then, and will probably take some lumps along the way with that schedule.  But I predict come playoff time they will be ready.   One of their coaches half joked to me that they could go 5-5 regular season and win the state championship.  Ha ha.
