Cocky - where did you get that idea from. Those guys are only from Memphis. And Josh Meeks is definitely not the top in Div. II. There is a whole nother side to this state. Going back to my post in the Div. II Dream Team I have have to say rankings fall somewhat like this:

1. Josh Suddath (McCallie)

2. Marc Gasol (Lausanne)

3. Trey Williams (MHA)

4. Adarius Bowman (ND)

5. Charles Hampton (BB)

6. Brandon Wright (BA)

7. King Dunlap (BA)

Don't get me wrong, I think Josh Meeks has a lot of talent and is a great guy. I would place Josh Meeks at 9 or 10 (somewhere behind Ryam Baum). Although ECS has played good ball and won a lot, I do not see them as being that good. They got knocked by Harding twice, and Harding has struggled. I do not see ECS getting out of the west region for state, but I guess we'll see this weekend. Cocky, I thought you were from Briarcrest...

I've seen ECS play several times this year. Josh Meeks is their best player, but he is NOT the best player in any other category. Not in Memphis, not in DII, not in the state, not in region, or district. He is not bad, but he can't take over a game, if he has, I haven't seen it or heard of it. How 'bout Meeks quote in the CA about beating Harding the second time around. Didn't happen and won't again. I honestly don't know if ECS can make it past a well-coached Briarcrest squad tomorrow, or whenever they decide to play it. If they do, they should be able to beat Bishop Byrne, but will probably lose to MUS. ECS better pull for Byrne, because I don't see that ECS could beat Harding, Lausanne, or CBHS in the consolation game with a trip to Sectionals on the line.

    • Basically what you're saying is schools can basically bully students around and get away with it because they are protected. I agree to a certain extent but when schools decisions to keep knuckleheads on staff starts costing kids careers and a college education there is a problem. Our school system last week had a teacher supposedly push a kid and the parents went to the law and the teacher is suspended. So I wouldn't say that they can just do what they want without liability. This case don't pass the smell test because the coach had already been fired before and she got fired after a year on the job. Sounds like the student was right in this case on the outside looking in because the coach gets fired after one year. How many coaches get fired after one year?? Not many.
    • Problem with DB football goes beyond coaching. Like Waco said. Thr band is the main focus of their community and school. They have the resources to be a championship level team. Guarantee Ballard or Witten could have them nationally relevant at some point but everyone down to peewee would have to buy in and at DB we all know that would never happen.
    • I know the RB from OR he’s fast and has good hands. Is good on special teams also. Didn’t want to play defense over to the Ridge.
    • Lieutenant Flip flops is on a roll. #1 recruiter in Anderson Co, fo-sho.
    • Has there been any effort to contact college coaches other than Trevecca?
