This just in from the AP. The Lewis County Legends will be playing tonight at 6:00pm at the Spears Entertainment Center. After a short devotional service led by Legends team Chaplain "the Reverend" Ryan Reynolds the games begin. There are several rumors circulating that the Legends have signed Richard Duvall III to a free-agent contract to fill the absence of Legends Super Star BusterJr.

If these reports are indeed true, then there will be a great deal of excitement surrounding tonight's games as Little Jerry Brown (aka ODB) may have to face two of his most hated rivals at the same time in playing against Duvall and T-mac. In interviewing for this story yesterday afternoon ODB had this to say, "Yo dawgz, I can't wait to get on da Courtz 2nite against T-mac and Doogie. I hope da captain of da other team putz both dem on me at da same time. Dat way I can show da world dat dey can't guard a real playa. Word Up!" Anyone interested in playing tonight should contact the Legends Public Relations office located just across the street from the Lewis County Board of Educatation.

The Answer,

You are absolutely correct about the only games that really matter are today in Murfreesboro. On behalf of the Legends Basketball Association, I would like to congratulate all of the teams participating in this years State Tournament. It is not our intention to take anything away from these outstanding teams. The Legends threads are made up by former players and fans of the game who like to get together and have some fun once in a while. Several Legends team members like to use Coach T just for fun. Most of the posts are light-hearted with no offense given or taken. Best wishes to all the boys teams still playing especially local teams Perry Co., Summertown, and Columbia!

    • I have no affiliation with Maryville anymore outside of being a 2nd generation graduate from a large family of Rebel alumni. That relationship ended courtesy of the lame duck AD (a Bearden grad I might add) and the HBIC. That said, I could care less if a private school comes through and offers every promising athlete out of that school or any other school better opportunities.
    • A perfect example is for athletes at Clinton High School. I will completely understand, and hopefully everyone should understand why they want to, and as of right now, it looks like that’s going to happen in numbers over the summer.
    • I mean, that’s easy to say when it hasn’t happened to your school that often, if at all, but yeah, I think everybody should be for the student athlete or player. Whatever they think will help them or their athletic career, I feel like they should be able to do that, even if that means transferring schools. Now I don’t really get that when you have almost every offer you could want and then jump ship, but what can I say? I guess money talks.
    • I for one am all for it.
    • Covid killed the city because they chose not to play football in the 2020 season. Therefore, kids weren't able to practice and develop, and continuing to lift weights. Memphis basically had 7/8 graders, skipping a year, then playing 9/10 high school football. Now, there's only one team that has made a "dent" which will be Southwind (made it to the 5A semifinals last year).  If you want to go more suburbs, then it'll be Houston, which won the 6A state title, defeating Oakland Other than that, I agree.
