Allright jackets. Great to hear you won. This sets up a great game Wednesday night with Marshall Co. at 7:00. I guess I really will have to be neutral on this game since both teams are really playing well now. I know Fairview will be seeking revenge. No matter who wins both teams will advance to play on Friday with the winner playing at home. Everybody come watch as there should be fireworks on and off the field. Good luck to both teams.

I know you Fairview guys are probably celebrating right now, but when you get a chance, give me some details. Who pitched, who had the hits, who scored the runs. Thanks. I can hardly wait until Wednesday night for the rematch with Marshall Co. There will be at least one good thing about going back to Marshall Co. - you won't have to face Lykins.

well... the scoring started in the second for the jackets on a single by beau.... then a courtesy runner b/c he was pitching... then kennedy singled, buttrey hit into a double play with the runner advancing to 3rd then hudgins hit it to 2nd and the second baseman missed it and the run scored. then ben led off the 4th with a homer... then with kennedy on 3rd hudgins hit a bloop into left center and scored kennedy. they scored in the 5th when number 10 hit a 2-run homer... we added another run in the 6th when buttrey hit a homer to left field... they scored 1 in the bottom of the seventh and had bases loaded but couldnt get anything.... beau pitched a pretty game only giving up the homer and ben allowed a run in the seventh charged to beau after ben came into the game the seventh after beau allowed 2 with no outs... and picked up the save!!! final 4-3

It was a very exciting game for Fairview (27-7). Beau LeJeune (11-3) pitched 6 innings with Ben Wilshire (8-1-1) coming in to relieve in the bottom of the 7th (All 3 outs were Ks). Both pitched very well. Seniors Ben Wilshire and Chris Buttrey both had solo home runs to add to the 4-3 win over Montgomery Central. One run was scored in the second inning off a leadoff hit by LeJeune (courtesy runner: Bobby Buttrey) when Mont. Central made an error. The third run was off a hit by Brayton Hudgins to score Dan Kennedy (I think). Fairview was hitting well.

The game on Wednesday at Marshall should prove interesting!

Thanks for the reports exfire21 and new member twisterpup777. Sounds like the bats were really cracking with those 2 home runs by Wilshire & Buttrey I wish I could have been there to see them sail out. Looks like the pitching by LeJeune was good and relief by Wilshire in the bottom of the seventh to get the save. I can't wait to see what happens Wed. in Lewisburg. Even though both teams will play Friday, the winner stays at home with the loser going to either Milan or Jackson South Side. Maybe I'll get to meet jacketpride24 or yellowjacket21 - I still don't know who they really are. Thanks TallKid13 for the early report last night. Look for PageMan before the game as I usually arrive at least an hour before game time.

Thanks jacketpride24. Since I have rosters on all the 9AA teams, I can figure out who is who. Good luck Wednesday. Maybe goldenboy can make it, but I know how busy things can get for seniors near graduation time as my daughter graduates this year too. It will be a great game Wed. and I wonder who will be throwing for each team. We must assume that Lykins & LeJeune are probably done for the week so do you go for the win or do you save somebody for the next game where elimination looms. It will be interesting to see what the coaches do for both sides. See you there

    • We could sure use some math teachers country wide. Ever go into a store or restaurant and the bill comes to $9.97 and you give them a ten dollar bill and 2 pennies because you wanted a nickle back and then the meltdown starts and the next thing two more people have to come and help figure it out and the place comes to a complete halt. I see this everyday and it's a sad representation of all these schools allowing these kids out the door to get shortchanged the rest of their life.
    • I like the Pirates chances. I’ll be there as soon as work allows.
    • Stars, I heard we were searching far and wide for some math teachers. Any chance their kids bench press or 40 times are getting checked? LOL I’ve heard good things from 825.
    • I think it was expected. “Bad” luck I guess to get a couple difference maker QBs in the same class. I thought the decision was made a little early myself, but they were struggling offensively last year.  I assume the running quarterback alco had last year would be a senior this fall, and the transfer would start the following two years in addition to getting a ton of playing time this year. Maybe he waits two yrs, but I doubt it. The kid is good. So is the one who stayed.
    • I'm from Cloudland and we've never played a sectional game.  We need to win tomorrow night to avoid that bus ride.  Us and north greene can play with you guys so I'm expecting good games whoever the matchup is.
