16/under State Schedule

The players that are on Gomab's list are as follows

#30 should be, but wasn't...I'm sure he will be soon

Ronnie Daniels...I don't think he was, but I'm sure he will be also, the kid is as explosive as any

Lawrence Kinnard...Nike Camp

Larricas Brown...Man Child...most complete post player we have, shoots 3's, great free throw shooter, great, soft touch...just needs to get taller, he's only about 6'4

Vashon Ingram (Wasn't there, top 40 players)he shoots the 3's as good as anyone on the team, and is about 6'6...all three play for Raleigh Egypt, a team that just beat AAA champion White Station this summer

Josh Stafford (Ron Huery, former Mr. Basketball, NBA player, Arkansas standout)

Chad Henderson...chad, josh, ronnie, #30 are all on the same sheffield team!

Ross Tapley..ranked on Gomabs list

Thaddeous Young(don't know his last name)...best point guard we have, wasn't there

Tayloe Taylor...SG, ranked on Gomab's list for Wooddale...wasn't there

Throw in Tavarious Payne, a 6'9 monster whose only 15...you may have heard of him, him and his legal guardian moved to WA earlier this year and he started playing ball there.

I liked the Thunder Team, thought they had good height and bulk...possibly the best coaching there at the tournament, I was impressed with their desire and coaching.

I went ahead and did some research I thought may be of interest to all:

This tourney had 7 of the top 10 and 32 of the top 100 sophs (to be Jrs)

on Gomabs rankings. I still would like to see Charles Little on our team

and Tyler Smith playing with somebody local and next year Im sure

Jp will be in there. As you can see, the parity that Gomab mentioned

is prevelent with 4 teams with a definite 6 players ranked and the Bulldogs

probably do too, I just dont know them. You can definitely see why these

teams did well, and finished 1-5. Gomabs rankings are pretty darn close guys.

Maybe not exact but pretty darn close.

(These are what I knew or could find-please add)

No # means Honorable Mention.

Im interested to see how they will change soon.

60 Larricus Brown 6'4 BF Raleigh-Egypt D-II/NAIA Raleigh-Egypt All-Stars

Theres the first one I missed.

Thank you for the complement on coaching and play of the team.

We enjoyed competing and getting the chance to improve against

such a group of players. Basketball is evidently on the rise in TN

and Im just glad to be a part of it. I hope we all do well and represent

the diverse group of players that the state offers.

Again, I would have liked to brought Derek Ledbetter and Chucky Lindholm

both from East of Nashville so everyone could see these guys too.

Its obvious that TN as a whole can currently compete nationaly.

Memphis and Nash can more easily get more talent per team than

any other area. While Chatt, Knox, and Tri-Cities put out some players

they all do not play together and compete nationaly. Then you get kids

even farther in rural areas and its just a total different world to them that

most of them are not ready for and wont explore. We will always have

that few major d-1s out there, but we really try to get those unknowns

developed and put on stage. Hopefully we (TN) can get more kids like

the Ballerz guard (memory has failed me) that went to NC state and

start getting the attention kids deserve.

Chad Henderson #32 now plays for the Rebels with us...I had forgotten about Marlon hopefully he didn't break his foot.

Rico does not play for us unfortunately, we could use his services.

I'm honestly not sure if the Rebels will be able to go to the tournament or not...Many of our players are goin to be busy, and although we have kids that want to play for us...it's tough to say...

    • I will never forget the 1983 Heritage vs Maryville game. I remember driving home and listening to WGAP. Can't remember the announcers name. He asked Coach Story why he kept going for 2? Story told him " Why didn't you ask Renfro that last year"
    • TSSAA will let them all go to Mase.
    • Well nothing new, the Mustangs are really talented again this coming season!  They very well could go undefeated in regular season.  We shall see what happens in postseason.  I think the path to state title game is a little clearer than years past.  I think the Stangs are going to be really good and I think the traditional teams around in 2A are not going to be as strong.  It should be a fun season!
    • I would not put too much stock into the UH over Eagleville. From what I understand they were pretty banged up in that tourney. Catcher was out, they were throwing pretty deep in their bullpen and a few key players were beat up in their infield. Sounds like they are pretty healthy heading into the district tournament. Look at their schedule, they played some really good teams.
