McCallie vs. Knox Central

There quarterback is a good one, he can throw the ball pretty well and is somewhat mobile. He is also a very good kicker. But I still believe that Central, with their skill positions, will be too much for McCallie.

mhs---siegel is a new school in Murfreesboro. They are 5A. The game is at Central this year. They might be hard to get a handle on because nobody will know much about them. A lot of people around Central are worried about this game. As far as Greeneville, they have a good tradition but they lost a lot from last year. With this being the 1st game of the year, I would think Central should have a big edge. Helton has tried to upgrade the schedule so that the media can't claim they play a soft schedule with the exception of the Maryville, Halls & Powell games.

Thanks for the info. And i certainly would not call this schedule anywhere near soft. By the way did this new school have several others consolidate into one?

mhs---I don't think they consolidated any schools. The boro is just growing that fast. There is already talk there of another high school. It might be interesting to here from some people in that area how siegel's opening will effect the different schools.

Helton is not trying to upgrade the schedule. Nobody will play them anymore since they have been so good for the last several years. I cannot believe that some of the schools have played them the last several years knowing that they are facing a good opponent.

Central is the best all around team in Knoxville.

In the Spring, Helton did say they wanted to get more exposure and play an upgraded schedule. But red dog, you are right about some of the teams central has played in the past. Karns, Morristown East and Cocke Co. wanted no part of Central after the last couple of years. Cocke Co. scheduled Central for their homecoming and got humiliated. We asked some of the Cocke Co. people why they did that and they could not understand the thinking either. I thought you were supposed to play a patsy for homecoming.
