chill Posted December 7, 2003 Report Share Posted December 7, 2003 Hancock County beat Cosby 52-48 in Sneedville last night. Jonah Belcher had 16 points including 2 3's and Matt Greene finshed with 13. Pretty balnced scoring for Hancock overall. Cosby had three scorers in double digits(Black,Gunter,Williams), but it looks like they held Kent Black in check for the most part. A little surprised at this outcome considering what Hancock lost from last year and the coaching change, but they are a perennial powerhouse and find ways to win. Cosby struggled offensively with an uncharacteristic 19 points at the half. Nice win for Hancock..... I noticed that Hancock's record was 2-3. I don't want to make excuses but the flu bug has swept through the Cosby team and this may have been a factor. I think our point guard Kevin Hall didn't even dress. But even with a healthy Eagle team, I knew this would be a test for them. Let's hope everybody is close to 100% for the big game Tuesday with Unaka at the Eagle's Nest. rebecca Posted December 8, 2003 Report Share Posted December 8, 2003 The hancock girls are 1-3 and the boys are 2-0 not 2-3, the boys have not been beaten.And matt collins had 10pts and10 rebs. the belcher , greene ,and collins trio shut up the cosby eagles.
