FludDanzr21
correct me if i am wrong, but didn't notre dame end up winning the tournament because the coach couldnt handle the fact that ooltewah stepped it up and beat them? didn't he argue about the scores and pestered the staff so much that they let him re add the scores and they supposedly won by a mere half a point? best_of_the_west
Looks like they won by a mere 6 points.
cb56
.5 or 6 pts, a win is a win. Notre Dame knows that better than anyone after last yrs state dual criteria match. Even if their coach did pester they would not have given him undeserved pts just to shut up. They won so obviously they had a reason to recalculate scores. Congrats. CoachDelgado
The rules allow for a recalculation of scores so long as the protest is given within 30 minutes of the end of competition. I actually commend the ND coaching staff for being aware the score was wrong. Calculating team scores can be a daunting task. To keep it throughout the duartion of the tournament and know it is wrong takes great attention to detail and talent. There is no way that the host school would just give them extra points just to shut them up. Ooltelwah also would have protested if that was the case. Ultimately, ND scored more points and won the event. They are definately a program on the rise with the addition of Lennon and Voiles to their coaching staff.
