I would like to say thank you to all our parents, matgirls, and other volunteers for helping to pull this off. It was a LONG weekend, so thanks for sticking with us. Special thanks to Rod & Peggy Holliman, Brad Fiscus, Ellie Chason, Louise Davis, Lou Hoop, Todd Henderson, and of course my mom and dad for all you did. Because of you guys we were able to start earlier than planned and keep things running smoothly when any little incident came up.

Congratulations to Soddy Daisy. You have a very strong team and it showed this weekend. Congratulations to all the medalists. One of the reasons the tournament went so long was because the competition was very close and there weren't a lot of pins. There were a lot of great matches and outstanding wrestlers. And the officiating! What a great crew! Some of the best in the state.

We saw tournament history with three father-son champion combos: Ralph (1974 champ) & Nate Williams, and Tom (1982 champ) & Nick & Michael Marable.

 

I hope the tournament was a positive experience for all the teams and wrestlers. Good luck to all of you for the rest of the season and we'll see you in Chattanooga.
