Hey ETCoach, I hate to question you, being a former validictorian and all ... but would that be "dumber than I" or "dumber than me?" If it were an algebraic equation, I would never even question you.

 

I suppose you're right, because the inferred conclusion of the sentence would be "am", which would be "dumber than I 'am'". But doesn't it bug you when people always want to say "I" when often "me" is the correct word to use?

 

You gonna be covering WB vs Alcoa Friday night? If so, I'll be sure to give you and Russell your props you deserve.

It's interesting you'd inquire about the grading system at William Blount. It's a very unique and unusual system they are currently using. Students can choose one of four plans:

 

*The Tennesse Valley Scholars - g.p.a. based on taking a state-mandated curriculum

 

*The University Prep Program - g.p.a. is weighted based on difficulty on course load

 

*The Cow Judging, Milking, Basketweaving Program - more of a vocational track, developed after rezoning resulted in a large influx of students from the South Knoxville region transferring in

 

*The South Doyle Plan -- students start out with a 4.0 g.p.a. with the understanding that they will have 1/10th of a point deducted each time South Doyle's boys beat William Blount in basketball.

 

I'm happy to announce that our last eight validictorians came out of the S.D.P. Looks like this year will be no different.

based on that, your best student this year shouldn't have better than a 3.0

so at this time, under this proposed plan, everyone's current GPA would stand at...

It was 1989 when I was valedictorian. Since then I haven't done much with my life. However, I have been to the state tournament in basketball twice while @Oliver Springs in 1998 and 1999 and to the state tournament once in Baseball while @ Oliver Springs in 1997. Do you even know where they hold the State tournaments, Mr. Joe?
