1st day of Practice

As for every year softball player have to go from cold snow to hot days. Practice is a day away and today we have snow on the ground. Thank goodness we have yellow softballs. How does your team get around the weather? Do you practice in the gym or does your school have a field house with batting cages ar do you just wait untill you get a nice day to go out.

The schools that i have been associated with, Hunters Lane and Hendersonville, find ways to beat weather. Hendersonville has an indoor facility with a batting cage. It has plenty of room to hit grounders, throw, and do the nice wind sprints after practice. Hunters Lane uses the gym. They work on batting mainly.

In the past our team don't practice half the time anyways so the snow, the rain or the heat doesn't affect them. Sad isn't it. There's a new coach this year so we'll see how she does.

"Softball in the Fall" sounds great I know, but I hope you're not a football fan. Coached in GA this year and I think I saw maybe 4 UT games on tv. It killed me, but the weather is pretty good until its time for state. Seems like it's always raining though.
