can young teams be serious competiors

I know they can, if they have some leaders in the bunch and a good coach.

yea they can compete..the florida marlins were young...but i guess thats a little different

It's not about age it's about ability, desire and heart! Some coaches seem hesitant to give young players a chance. I really respect a coach that plays the best player no matter what the age.

Hmm lets see... only 3 seniors, yet a bunch of talented underclassmen. Don't just take my word for it... obviously some other people have the same view I do. Watch for Ooltewah this year... their the team to beat in 6AAA. With two of the best coaches in the game, Joe Wingate and Jon Massey, they will steer them in the right direction.

Sure, young teams can compete. It's harder for them, but they can. Last year Lenoir City usually started 2 seniors, a junior, 4 sophomores, and 2 freshmen, yet they won their district tournament.

The better young players probably feel less pressure than the upper classmen and at times do very well. Of course they are prone to "freshman" mistakes at the same time, which quite often haunts the older players.

Red Bank only has 3 seniors also but that doesnt mean a thing..its how you play. What really seperates "seniors" from "junios" and so on...just the title of your class and a couple of months some juniors are just as old or older than some seniors . some juniors might have late birthdays while some sophomores might have earlier birthdays... its all how you play and how you play with the rest of your team..Yes you NEED leadership but you could have a stacked senior team and be beaten by a team that might only have 1 or 2 seniors on the field depending on if your ability to get you job done as a player rather or not you are young or not.
