LIVINGSTON ACADEMY FANS

I think LA fans are some of the worst in 7AA, especially on their home floor. I always hated to go there and play against them because of the fans that sit under their goals, their students. The last time we (York) played up there, while we were playing the game, some of them told me I sucked while I was out there playing. They get real close to the floor and yell right at the players. They even leaned right over Jordan Clark one time during the guys game and said something to him. Also, during the guys game, a few of their fans were gonna walk to the other end while Brandon Burke shot free throws to win the game and yell at him to distract him. Thankfully, they were escorted out of the gym. So glad I don't have to go back to LA and play anymore because of their fans.

I will say this, I know that when Livingston Academy lost in the first round of the State Tournament last year, an announcement was made over the loud speaker at Jackson County saying that Livingston had just lost and the entire student body of Jackson County High School erupted into cheering and yelling. That is a classless act then if it was classless of Livingston Academy fans to cheer that Jackson wasnt going to state. To me all Coach T is, is a good place for immature people to get on here and talk about other teams and their fans without people knowing who they are. I guess that is why I have never posted before. What I said just then is something I would say to anyones face.

I must have been covering my ears when they made "the announcement" last year about LA's first round tourney loss. Oh, and I also must have closed my eyes when the ENTIRE student body broke into celebration. I think I was too busy writing "LA is poo" on the bathroom wall with spray paint to pay attention.

In the words of a wise man (Homer Simpson): "Oh by the way, I was being sarcastic."

P.S. You forgot to mention how we held a parade and a pep rally after LA's tournament loss last year. ;)

Hey, no hard feelings or anything; I just don't recall that "announcement" over the intercom or the events following that you described.

Has anyone in here ever watched Duke play at Cameron Indoor Stadium? I'm sure most of you all have. While watching, did you notice the crowd when the opposing team tryed to inbound the ball? They were all yelling and taunting the opposing player. That is just the name of the game to intense fans. If you people that play sports can't take being taunted and booed and all that mess, you need to get out of sports. If I cryed every time I was yelled at and booed on the football field, I'd still be crying. Grow up, stink it up, and quit belly-aching. LA fans, keep doing what you have been doing because if you notice, classless or not, look who is in the state tournament and who isn't. I see LA, but it's funny that I don't see Jackson Co. or York.

I don't feel LA fans are classless at all. It is a high school basketball rivalry, and a very fun one. These two schools are separated by only a few miles.

Although some fans in the student section may take things too far, it's like a number of people have said in this thread, almost every school has dopey kids that do that. You can't stereotype an entire school's fan base for it, you just can't.

If people are going to stereotype the fans of every school, I guess only Pleasantville High School is safe from criticism...

Well, I certainly have no problem with LA's fans, usually the people that complain about them were on a team or were for a team that LA beat (girls usually). I think that LA's fans are very supportive of their team and may show a little classes here and now, but they are the best supporters of LA that I have seen in that gymnasium in a long time. No one is prouder to be a Wildcat than that student section is.

Oh, Duke, OK, I change my mind! It is OK to taunt teenage girls, who are on the basketball floor giving their all to represent their school.

So you think taunting is the reason LA is in the state tournament?

No, it is because the girls from LA were born with god given talent and worked their tails off in the gym to make themselves better.

McMinn Central had the best fans I have seen all year. They did not taunt the players on the floor, they just made as much noise as humanly possible and I loved what they had! That chant they did at the end of the substate was awesome, did they come up with that or has it been done before? (Any McMinnfans know?) That is what I think a student section should be like.

Good luck to LA's players in their upcoming game, to the LA student section, cheer for you team without trying to just make the opposing crowd mad, it can be done.

I was told by a good source FROM THE SCHOOL, that there was celebration from the Jackson County students. To Bob77, what is the difference in the McMinn cheer and LA's HOGEYE cheer? There really isn't one. A classless cheer would be the one that the Jackson County crowd said after they beat LA. Changing their cheer around to make it out to be against them. That is pretty bad. OF course, I guess Bubblegum is right the ones that do have a problem with LA's "classlessness" is the one's LA has beaten. I guess the H-O-G-E-Y-E HOGEYE HOGEYE T-N-T cheer got to them.

I'm sorry, I didn't make myself clear. I don't have a problem with the hogeye cheer, I was just stating I liked McMinn's. What I do not like from the LA students is the taunting of the other fans and players though, and cheering when players get injured. :D What are you talking about with celebration of Jackson County students?

I just want to say this: Dont start a war, because you won't win!
