East Tenn Men Hurdlers

So what is the competition looking like for the 300m IM hurdles this year in East Tennessee and throughout the state? Also, the insight on the 110 HH. Let's hear your thoughts....

I'm new to 110Hh. Running in 15.6 range and first meet is tuesday so I guess we'll see how I do. Anybody know the qualifying standard for region?

The only person I know about is Shon Lowe at Bradley. He's been running hurdles a long time (running AAU in the summer). His brother Shane went to state last year and Shon is probably better now than Shane was. He will run both 110 and 300. First meet is tomorrow, we'll see how he does.

Shon and Shane were/are the gold standard for east tennessee, but running a 15.6 isn't bad at all, I think thats pretty close to getting you into the region (it might even be good enough to get u in) but I was never fast enough in the hurdles to know about the regions, so you might want to check with your coach.

How could you guys have not have heard of McCallie's Michael Bingham? Last year at the D2 State Meet, he won the 110 Hurdles with a time of 14.45 and the 300 Hurdles with a time of 39.80. Not to mention, he also won the 100 Meter Dash, the Decathlon, and placed 2nd in the Long and Triple Jupms behind Adarius Bowman who has hence graduated. He is a senior now and is committed to Wake Forest. He will likely score over 60 points this year. Nothing against Shon and Lamar, but he would beat them badly in the hurdles and the jumps. He is, without a doubt, the best overall athlete in TN high school track and field.

You're right, InsindEric. Bingham is a beast. He is by far the state's best hurdler.

Michael Bingham is definitely the gold standard. He is an awesome hurdler (as well as pretty much everything else). I look forward to seeing him at Best of Preps.
