2004 Warrior Spring Classic - Day 3

Some great baseball played so far. Bang-Bang play at the plate to end the Farragut - Oakland Game.

 

Wilson Central and Cookeville going scoreless for 7 innings, Cookeville

scoring a run in the top of the 8th and Wilson Central hitting a

grand-slam in the bottom of the eight.

 

The first-ever meeting and great game between Marshall County

and Forrest. I hope they had as much fun playing the game as I had

watching it!!!

 

Two Baseball America Top-15 teams coming to Middle Tennessee and

suffering a loss.

 

Siegel, in their first year of existence, going 4-0, but losing out on

the tie-breaker by allowing more runs.

 

12 of the 64 games were one-run affairs... 5 more were 2-run games...

 

There were some bombs hit. Some great plays in the field.

 

I hope everyone had a great time! Thanks for coming! And to Cumberland County, White House, Wilson Central and Houston - can't wait to see ya Sunday!!! (well, I get to see 3 out of 4 of them

Thanks much for all your hard work. I hate that I had to miss the Warrior Classic this year, but have kept up with the Rockets through you. If the Rockets could only win one game during the tournament, I know they took much satisfaction in beating county rival Marshall County Tigers! Way to go guys!

Warrior Classic Finals----Cumberland County ?, White House ? , Wilson Central ? , along with Houston. Sounds like most of the heavy weights had to fight it out themselves and left the pickings for the light weights. But, this is the same thing that happended last year in the AAA state playoffs in Memphis. But, this only makes the tougher teams get better when it really counts at the end. Congrats to all these light weights.....can only win against who you play and possibly one of you will come away with the champ crown.

Hi david, wish I had known ou where at riverdale for the marshall game, I was there and would have loved to meet you.

Goodpasture played marshall in the next game so I go tthere early and watched the game . great tournament with alot of great teams.

As best I remember, there have been a game or two scheduled over the years, but rainouts, etc. have kept them from officially playing. There have been scrimmages. Marshall Co is a AA school and Forrest an A school, so they don't usually play each other. Even though Chapel Hill is in Marshall Co., Lewisburg is the "big" school in the county, and a regular rivalry could get kind of nasty, I suspect. Could be interesting, though. Like I said I'm sure the Forrest guys really enjoyed the win.
