Total of eleven teams in the tournament. Nike and Reebok were

in the same pool. Reebok and Nike played even through the middle

of the third quarter. Down the stretch, Reebok's size and depth made

the difference and Reebok won by 15.

Nike and Shooting Stars play in the first semi final.

JJ:

I had bad information on the previous posting for the final four. The actual

semi-finals were as follows:

Reebok v. Memphis Bellevue

Nike v. Nashville Hawks

The Hawks are coached by Collins and appear to have many of his

"Future" team from last year. They beat the Shooting Stars in pool

play. The Shooting Stars finished second in their pool and were

eliminated by Memphis Bellevue in bracket play.

The semi-finals are complete with the following results:

Memphis Bellevue over Reebok

Nike over Nashville Hawks in OT

The finals are Memphis Bellevue and Nike tonight at 6:00. The

Bellevue team is apparently a 13 year old team that is playing up.

This team is incredibly quick.

  Thanks. Final results?

Memphis Bellevue won over Nike. This team dominated the

tournament. They were either second or third in the nation

last year as 12's.

Apparently, they will not take the bid to the state tournament.

Nike and Reebok will advance to state. Reebok defeated the

Nashville Hawks for third place.

I heard that you were injured. Will you be able to play in

the state tournament?

jek, The Hawks coached by Collins only has 3 of the 13 players from last year's FUTURE team. The FUTURE group looked a whole lot better last year at this point than the Hawks looked this weekend. The FUTURE was well into the AAU State tournament before they took a loss in AAU competition. As well, the FUTURE could put up 80 - 100 points a game, where the Hawks struggle to put up 50 - 60 points a game. The Hawks have already lost 3 games through prep tournament and Sub-State competition. The Hawks have the talent. Their starters are some of the top players in the City. Robert Ellison won the City this year at Hunters' Lane freshmen team, Deonte' Mason and Charles Brooks won the City with GraMar Middle School, Billy Carver's Litton team made it to the City tournaments and Deonvelt Miller was the best player on a dominant Dalewood team.

You are right, they have the athletes. I recognized players from last year and

assumed the bulk of the group was from last year's team. A couple of last year's

starters were playing with the Shooting Stars in the National qualifier at BA in

April. Did they leave the Stars for the Tennessee Thunder?

Yes Erik Wisdom and Marcus Jefferson, who both started for the FUTURE last year, left the Shooting Stars to join former FUTURE players that are now on the Tennessee Thunder. Erik started at shooting guard with the City Champion GraMar Middle School alongside the Hawks' Deonte' Mason and Charles Brooks, and the SouthEast Elite's Joshua Henley. Marcus played for Central Middle School in Murfreesboro. He average about 20 plus pts a game. They both enjoyed the Shooting Stars team, just wanted to play with relatives and friends on the Thunder. The Thunder qualified for the State in Lynchburg.

I believe the injury you are referring to is my pulled groin. I am 100% now, after a few weeks of physical therapy. I am not participating in any more tournamentss with the Southeast Elite, but I'm not going into any specifics about that. I wish them the best of luck. At this point I am not playing with any team, but am working out pretty hard trying to improve my jumper and ball handling for high school.
