First off, props to BGA because of their win tonight. They are very good, there is no way around that. Walton is also a great GK but not a smooth move to lose his temper and be out for the first round of state. Thanks for the entertainment though. Since I play for Father Ryan, it stinks to lose a 1-0 game, but i think we definitely gained some respect tonite. Granted, we caught some breaks but thats part of the game-BGA caught a few themselves. We hung with arguably the best team in the state and maybe some of yall will respect that. Anyways, congratulations to BGA and goodluck to them in the tournament.

if i am correct BGA hasnt lost since loosing to Blackman 1-0 before spring break. Father Ryan was by far the best team we have faced since that and maybe before. for the first time in a long timewe were held to very few scoring opportunities. usually, even if we dont score alot, we will have missed alot of shots, but that wasnt the case last night. and if anyone is wondering the goal came off a backdoor header from a corner kick.

Ydet, please don't use the first person when talkin about the BGA soccer team; you can say whatever you want as long as you make it clear that you are not a player and that you do not speak for the team.

We appreciate your support, however. Keep up the good work.

This was a great game and BGA's goal was nice. I had been at the bwood franklin game and i stopped by BGA on the way home and right as i was walking up i saw lafonte head that corner it. Who played the ball? i couldn't tell, but whoever it was, it was a beautiful ball. Also, Will Walton, you are a great keeper, but you just hurt your team big time last night. They cannot afford to lose a keeper of your caliber for the first round of state. Keep your cool. Also now you have your team playing without its sweeper and one of the best sweepers in the midstate, ryan barnes. I don't like him, but hes a good sweeper. Good luck to both teams at state and i thought BGA would march to the finals, but without walton and barnes being forced to play in goal and them having to put in a new sweeper, anything can happen.

He got a red card last night in the region finals. He went off on the ref and was given a yellow and then went crazy, it was quite entertaining, and then recieved a 2nd yellow resulting in a red. And to the TheMyth, i am sorry if i offended you, are you Will Walton? and by the way, these boards are for talking about soccer and this thread is the BGA v Ryan thread and that was probally one of the biggest things that occured in the game. It is good to know that he is aware of his mistake, i was not trying to point fingers or anything at him, we all make mistakes. I got a red card earlier in the year and i heard about it forever on how i hurt my team and such, and believe me you get sick of hearing about it and stuff, i was just simply stating that without him things could be interesting for BGA. I think they are too talented though to lose even without him. They have a balanced enough offense that they can hopefully manage and just keep the ball in there half and Barnes is very athletic so i think he should do ok. Sorry for offending anyone. and if you are Will Walton, your a good keeper, just made a mistake, but it happens to everyone.

    • Deja vu all over again, 7 yrs apart. SMDH Does anybody talk to each other?
    • OK, well, that’s because two quarterbacks can’t start. That’s football 101. The main quarterback won the starting job, so he was on varsity, and the Seymour transfer did not win the starting job. He played some varsity. He was mainly junior varsity, and he balled out when healthy, so for the starting quarterback who’s been starting varsity since his freshman year, if you have any form of proof that he’s gotten worse, somehow, whether that means stats or whatnot, please feel free to share.
    • They’ve both gotten worse. I’ve seen enough games to know that.
    • The only two transfers that Bearden has gotten that went on to play college football were a defensive back from Karnes, who transferred here way before the new coaching staff got here, and a running back from Carter, who went on to play at Maryville College. Both players received those offers while at Bearden, and both players got a diploma from Bearden High School. Therefore, they are Bearden kids, and you can’t do anything about that.   The transfer from Seymour didn’t win the job, what do you expect two quarterbacks to start at the same time? He played great on JV when he could stay healthy, and when he came in on varsity, he did great. The quarterback position is definitely going to be in good hands when the current starting quarterback leaves, but until then, they’re just going to be battling it out like every good quarterback competition does. The current starting quarterback has his flaws, and that is in the pass game, but what he doesn’t have flaws is running and scrambling, and if you go back and watch any game, which I’m sure you didn’t watch any, we used him very often, and when we needed a deep ball, we brought in the transfer from Seymour. The starting quarterback last year will be a senior this year, and the Seymour transfer will be a junior, so the Seymour transfer is definitely going to get his spotlight. He may even win the job this year. Football isn’t about who the newspaper thinks is the best kid. The best kid in the position will win the starting job, and I trust the coaching staff more than a newspaper or article to pick my starting QB.
    • I mean, we’ve only gotten two transfers that went on to play college football, one who went to UT Martin came his second semester junior year before the new coaching staff was here, and the other one went on to play at Maryville College, in which I don’t believe he had any interest prior to transferring.
