Columbia Post 19

Recommended Posts

How is Post 19's team going to be this summer after losing some of their key players? I know they lost a couple of pitchers and also their homerun leader in Nickell who ended the summer with 23. They still should have some aces on the pitching staff coming back if my memory is correct. This team always is loaded and lives up to their hype. If anyone knows who is own the team that is new and those who are returning names would be appreciated.

Columbia looks as if they are going to be as good this year as they have been in the past. Still after losing some of their players from last year they return a solid line-up. Poling has stepped up with the big stick along with Courtney English. The pitching has also started off where it left off last season. Looks like another State Championship is well in reach.

As i had believed Columbia has once again lived up to their hype. They won the Southern Athletic Tourny in Columbia by a combined score of 57 - 0. In my opinion they should have not even have entered the tourny because it was a lack of competition Post 19's real test comes this Friday as the play Tuscalusaa, Alabama...the team that ended their dream season last summer in the finals of the Southeast regional. Keep the opinions on the team going!!

    • I have no issues with the Karns Middle School program.   Good coaches and he's with the kids he goes to school with.  He's a rising 6th grader who had to play with 6th grade kids last year because Karns didn't have enough kids for a 5th grade age team.  He's in a good place at this point.   My daughter is a single mom with 4 kids under 11 years old.  We help her out with logistics, so staying in our own area right now is important.  Once he gets to high school age, who knows what happens?  That bridge will be crossed when we get there.
    • I know he was a backup but I thought he filled in well when the starter went down. Never a bad thing to have a change of pace back
    • That would be a good get for them. Lowe always finds a way. Pretty sure they have their Rb from last year returning but not that line of beef
    • One school has said it, it was York…who Oneida and many school that played them before we did claimed that they were the dirtiest bunch they’ve played. Riverside didn’t call us dirty nor did smith after they beat us. Ur only dirty if your the one giving out the whoopins.
    • If it was anyone but #8 I would agree with you. Theirs a couple people on that team that probably would. Not him. And I who was standing on the 1st base line fence saw clearly that the boys foot was covering more than half the bag.
