1. Albert Harris from AE, might just be the best all purpose back in the state

2. Lamarcus Coker from Antioch, is a great back but I just think Harris is a little better

3. Dustin Lindsey from Alcoa, I wanna see the kid play, but what I have heard in 2A football in the state you cannot get much better

A name to consider is Oak Ridge's Spencer Gulmire. Gulmire, 5-11, 185, junior, was recently selected by coaches all across the state to the 2004 Star Physical Therapy Coaches Preseason All-State Class 5-A football team. The Wildcat player is the lone junior named to the team and is joined in the backfield by LeMarcus Coker of Antioch and Jake Nunley of Coffee County.

A starter since his freshmen year, Gulmire rushed for 1089 yards and scored 15 touchdowns while also catching passes for an additional 159 yards as a sophomore in 2003. He has amassed 1728 yards and 22 touchdowns in his ongoing Oak Ridge career.

These numbers have been posted while Gulmire has been the number two man in Oak Ridge's rushing attack behind the all-time rushing leader Corey Booker with 4808 rushing yards. It will be interesting to see what Gulmire will do now that he is the go to guy. My guess is he will perform like a champion.

    • You wanna talk about zoned for Bearden.  Lol.  I don't think so.
    • Great win for the Pirates. State Tourney bound !
    • You're talking about the running back, right? I don’t believe he was zoned for west, but there were numerous players that came from TKA a few years ago and still are. I’m sure some are, but the majority aren’t.
    • Gratitude abounds for Blake Satterfield, whose five-year tenure as the head coach and exemplary ambassador for Trousdale County and its educational system has left an indelible mark. His strategic leadership during playoff seasons was nothing short of remarkable. Anticipating that his future endeavors will be equally impressive.  Perhaps the board members will refrain from undermining the incoming coach as they did in Blake's case.
    • Yeah that's true, I was talking more about football.  If you go to a TKA game, there's nobody there.  The only people there are the parents of cheer and parents of players.    The kid that left and came to West was zoned for West and decided to quit private and go public school.  He won two state championships at West, so hard to blame him there.
