4Nashprivates As far as the recruiting goes you know it i know it everybody knows it. I didn't say the kids at the privates didn't work hard!! But i do know this DCA had a home schooled kid that went there only during football and as soon as football was over he was homed school again. But this is a whole different topic! IF i offended you i am sorry. but what gets me is that people think that no public school can compete with the privates. And what i am saying compete means play a good game with the privates. It don't mean beat them! But i think MP is very able of doing that! MAY not but that just my opinion. And you know what they say about opinions. But that's mine

WHY DOES EVERYONE THINK MP WON'T MAKE IT PAST THE SECOND ROUND. IT MOST CERTAINLY WONT BE CPA PLAYING THEM. HUNTLAND IS GOING TO GIVE THEM A GREAT GAME AND COME OUT ON TOP. AND A NICE REMATCH BETWEEN MP AND HUNTLAND WILL BE A GREAT GAME TO WATCH.

And yes the trash talking has begun. Why is it that every year the teams from region 6 want to talk trash, I don't get it. I bet no one from huntland has even seen CPA play this year. "overrated", I think not. Would you say Riverdale is overrated???......Thats alright you all always talk trash before the playoffs, thats easy. We do our talking during the game.

I never said Mt. Pleasant didn't have a chance against the privates. I think it's stupid people put them into different qualifications. They're both part of DIV I!!! single A. If i've said anything it's that i thought they had the potiential to beat CPA. Again I would put my money on CPA but I think it'll be a good game. Mt. P has obviously proven how good they are with the margin of victory that have against their opponents.

I have noticed that to about the last few years. Region 6 and wherever Cloudland is, those poeple love to accuse all the privates of recruiting and talk trash. USJ does not recruit. I graduated and played football on the runner-up USJ team in '98 and I have never heard any of the public schools in our regions,7 and 8(Bruceton, Lake Co., South Fulton, etc.), ever complain about recruiting and stuff. Those teams used to always play good games with USJ, especially Bruceton and Lake Co. in the 90's, before the last couple of years. Who do you think won all the State Titles in the 90's, save a few years for DCA and BGA? Publics. We lost to one of the greatest 1A teams ever in Trousdale in '98. So you want the privates out? Have fun with the competition because there will be none once the privates leave. 1A will be a joke to win.

SON, HUNTLAND HAS GOT MORE THAN YOU THINK. YOU JUST WAIT AND SEE. THE HAVE A GREAT DEFENSE THAT WILL SHUT CPA DOWN. WHAT CAN YOU SAY ABOUT THAT. CPA PLEASE ONE WORD SAYS IT ALL. OVERRATED!!!

How can you say a team is overrated when there only two losses are to the top team in the state (Riverdale) and undefeated 1A powerhouse DCA? Riverdale has given up 56 points on the year, wanna know how many of those came from CPA?28 points were scored by CPA on Riverdale. I don't think you can say CPA is overrated. Huntland probably is a good team but they won't get past CPA. Tell me why you think CPA is overrated besides just because you think so.

So, what you are saying is that, the privates are the only ones that have talent? I think not. :o I am not one to argue the public/private debate. To me, it does not matter. I have never cared if it was a public or a private school we were playing cause the same thing apply's when playing both, we want to beat you. Will Mt. Pleasant beat them come play-off time? I certainly hope so and I really believe Mt. Pleasant has what it takes to do so. So c'mon people, give it up. This Public/Private thing will NEVER be resolved. The best thing we can do is shut up and let 'em play! thumb But make no mistake, there ARE some great Publics out there this year, and I think they will represent well !! And for those that think 6a is so "weak".... that is totally NOT true.

How many kids go from a public middle school to a private high school? Not many at all, eliminating most recruiting allegations. Trust me if it happens some one would let it leak out, the truth always comes out. I went to public school all my life and have no problem with private schools. The reason they seem better is because they can pay for better coaches, and have better facilities. Don't accuse someone of something if you can't back it up and no one on here can prove any private school recruits and if you can PROVE IT!!!

    • Who’s going to lead the pirates offense this year?
    • Pickett is good, may have a Mr. Football like season if he’s used correctly. One of the best teams Marion has fielded in a while. I think they go 12-1 and loose to ER.  ER has better players at almost every position. If they play discipline this year, they win soundly. If they don’t though…Marion could sneak away with it.
    • I’m betting the house on the Indians. Pickett and Co will be the only team to challenge the Indians in the East. Huntingdon can in the West. I think Brooks goes 15-0 and has the first perfect season and state championship in ER history.
    • Sounds like a great opportunity has opened up for the football team.  With the head coach of the diamond rebels making it official and quitting this week, there should be some room for the gridiron guys to benefit. I assume the administration won’t continue paying six figures to two former coach that quit to continue teaching drivers Ed. Thats pretty good money that could be redirected toward the football program. Also, with the more recent policies of pushing kids to only play one sport, abolishing the baseball program altogether would help on Friday nights in the fall. There is some decent speed on that baseball team that should’ve been playing on Fridays IMO. I’m not sure if anybody would really miss that baseball program anyway with it being across town from the school. The liability of letting players actually use the facilities could also be mitigated with closing the program. That liability seems to be a really big issue for 825. Anyway, it seems like a great opportunity is available.
    • Yeah, I read about their spring blue/gray scrimmage after I typed that.   Sounds like a real mess over there.  I just hate that for 'em.  Haw
