TnVols23
Well, Alcoa decided to postpone all games until the end of football, (A projected 3 weeks), because of the upcoming district and region games. They came out and played strong tonight, however, beating Webb in overtime, by 4. Daniel Stubblefield led all scorers w. appx 20-30 , including at least 5 threes, one the go-ahead in regulation. Justin Ridenour had a good game offensively, probably contributing around 15-20. Zach Gerhardt got off to an early start with 2 running jumpers, and ended with 8 I believe, and sealing the deal at the end of the game w/ 2 free throws. Brett Biggar had 9 points, coming from 2 much needed 3-pointers, a jumper, and a free-throw. Jordan "Fort" Ridenour put in 4, coming in at the end with a big layup, off of a dish from a driving Biggar. Also scoring was Brett Bellisle, off the bench, with a offensive put-back for a score. The defense and rebounding was a tremendous improvement from the last game, especially the boxing out, which Alcoa drew 5 over-the-back calls off of. There was also some big steals that helped the win. Nevertheless, Alcoa was sometimes careless with the ball, leading to some big turnovers that almost cost them the game. It seemed like they knew they could win tonight, and that they wanted to win, unlike the other night, where it looked that they didn't think they had the personnel. coolkid07
I agree with alcoa postponing all the games becuause that is not very fair to not have 8-10 varsity players not playing. Alcoa did step it up against webb last night and got a big win. Justin Ridenour had 20, Daniel Stubblefield with 15, and Brett Biggar with 7. Webb's Ryan Walker led Webb with 16. Tom142
Well, Alcoa was playing without their starting lineup (football), and a weak Marsh Pit.
