I AM NOT TO SURE IF ANY OF YOU ON HERE CAN EVEN REMEMBER A TEAM CALLED THE WALLAND HIGH SCHOOL INDIANS BUT THEY WHERE IN A CLASS OF THERE OWN WAY BACK THEN. IN THE 1975-76 SEASON ONE WOULD HAVE TO SAY THAT KENT (SAM) ROBERTS WAS ONE OF THR BEST RECIEVERS IN THE STATE. YES THE SCHOOL WAS SMALL BUT IT GO THE JOB DONE. JUST ASK ANYBODY FROM BACK THEN THAT WENT TO SCHOOLS NAMED,,FRIENDSVILLE, TOWNSEND, PORTER, AND YES MY FAVORITE TEAM NOW THE REBELS, ALSO KNEW OF HIM WELL. OH YEAH, THE OLDIES FROM ROCKWOOD I AM SURE THEY REMEMBER HIM ALL TO WELL, (IF YOU KNOW WHAT I MEAN) thumb . BUT ANYWAY, BACK TO THE GOOD STUFF. i know kent roberts and from all that i have ever heard is that he was indeed an outstanding athlete. i think he was the first tn history ever to start both ways in the TN and KY allstar game. one fine athlete.

Billy Williams of Alcoa, kid from Knox Karns 1991, Kwayu Graham of Oak Ridge 1988, Taron Henry of Riverdale, Caldwell Chatt Brainard, Mike Gibson of Oak Ridge 1998, Ronyea Quick of Austin East, Travis Johns of Elizabethon, Clements of Maryville 2000, Brian Blair of Austin East 2001, Elliot Bishop of AE/Fulton of 2004 are some that I've seen and played against.

Some East Tennessee wide receivers who made it to the NFL that have not been mentioned are Jason McAddley from Oak Ridge and Joey Smith from Austin-East. Seems like Joe Fishback played receiver at A-E also and J.J. McCleskey at Karns, both ended up at DB in the NFL.
