District Tournaments

The schedules show that the tournaments will be held at Wartburg for 2005, if Wartburg hosted them in 2001, how can it already be their turn? My information is this:

 

2001 - Wartburg

2002 - Coalfield

2003 - Harriman

2004 - Rockwood (for Oakdale)

 

If there are 7 schools in the district, what happened to the other 3 getting to host?

As I understand it Gym capacity is also a factor. The gym has to seat a certain number.

I dont really think Wartburgs gym is big enough... they dont have that big of a gym... it needs to be at Harriman like all the time

Rockwood is larger than Wartburg, when is it their turn to host? Last year they were hosting for Oakdale.

Rockwood's gym is probably larger than Wartburg's (which will seat about 1000) but that doesn't mean that it is not within the required seating capacity.

 

As for Rockwoods turn, I'll bet a simple call to the RW A.D. can get you that answer much faster than on here. But Oakdale's gym is probably too small to hold a district and probably lost that turn because of it and the Rockwood got the nod as it would have probably been their turn this year.

The rules for District tournaments are set at that site for the State and the rest is left up to the District Members.

I'm also sure that re-districting has something to do with that--remember, every 4 years things change. Like next season, drop Rockwood & Harriman, pick up OS!!

Will OS be in the district with Rockwood and Harriman? They are going to dominate in Single A.

Well Oneida's gym can hold plenty but they never get considered because they are so far away from something, making them drive an hour to pretty much everywhere in the distrcit besides Sunbright and Wartburg.

As for seating last yr at Rockwood there wasnt enough room there. I think Wartburg is as big as Rockwood. They do need to start now looking at the gym's that they go to Sub state at. I know the one at Unaka's isnt big enough for that.

 

From what I was told Coalfield isn't large enough so they cant hold it there, or at Oakdale, I dont even think that Sunbright is large enough.

 

So that just leaves Wartburg, Harriman, and Rockwood. I dont know about Oneida.

and Sunbright in 99
