The Mav
Josh Harrie was a man on the boards tonight! Congrats to the Mavs. Good luck to the talented Dragons.
Guest At A Glance
I was at the game along with about 2000 other folk. I was told this was the first time AC put the upper bleachers on the bench side out since they held a regional about 5 or 6 years ago. It was a great game to watch, both teams laid it on the line a great cross-town match-up. I read Hopi’s post and he was not far from wrong the match-up with Harie and Humphery (I think their name’s are) was big on the inside and it hurt Clinton. The Clinton pressure hurt AC some but not as bad as it looked like it was going to. Defensive help inside against Clinton was really good. Dandrus Witt posted up down low late and made some really good strong moves but AC made it really tough for him or anyone else down low to score. Free throw's late pulled it out in the end. AC look to be a pretty good free throw shooting team. I heard in the 75% + range as a team not to bad a for a high school team. I watched two evenly matched team’s battle it out tonight. It was a great game to watch.
Guest Hopi
Great job MAVERICKS. Great game to watch. Dragons and Mavs are evenly matched with AC maybe having a little advantage at the 4 and 5 spots Harrie and Humphery's played big inside tonight. Young Corey Stooksbury had a great game as did all the kids but CS a sophmore played really big for Eldridge tonight.
cdragonz123
AT the end of the game those were more than questionable calls. They seemed to me like they were outright wrong. Now most of the game the refs called the game good and fair and the teams were almost even on fouls, but their in the 4th quarter i believe when Clinton took a 1 point lead and Jonathan Dye drove the lane took 2 steps and hit a layup they called it a walk and it was clearly 2 steps. AC went back down the court and took the lead and then later on the game was tied and Matt Ford set a screen for Whitt behind the 3 point line, he had his feet set and his hands in and i think it was called a moving screen. I dont know if those calls just came at coincidental times or what but it just seemed like the refs were trying to loose the game for the Dragons. But, I have to congradulate the Mavs they stayed in their and were up the whole game, if they didn't play good and werent right in their w/ the Dragons then it wouldnt have mattered about the controversial calls and one more thing, i did notice that Ac looked like they were getting on the ground for loose balls more than Clinton did so good hustle for the Mavs, and well see you at the Dragon Den. bubbadrew75
Chsbbfan- Sounds like to me you are not giving the Mavs from AC enough credit, and what gives you the idea that Clinton will blow out AC in their next meeting?..Please just tell me that because I would like to know. This was a hard fought game and it could have gone either way. Good game to both teams.
Live_Strong
AC could have played much better, but they did win and that is all that matters!
Faith+1
Does this outcome really surprise anyone? AC has the better record & is one of the best AA teams in the state, I realize this is a rival game, but I thought AC would come out on top from the beginning.
