Sycamore vs. Waverly

I think Cheatham's district record is 7-4. Concerning tiebreakers, does anyone know for sure how this is done after the head-to-head matchup is considered? Does it then go to a coin flip or do they look at how the tied teams did against first place Waverly, then the 2nd place team, and so on until there is (or isn't) a deciding game to compare?

The Cubs swept Sycamore & Stewart County. They split with Waverly and Montgomery Central. They were swept by Harpeth. They won their first game at CreekWood, who they'll host on Tuesday night. That would mean that their district record is 7-4 at the moment. Good call mkhhawk!!! I'll change that right away.

With a win this Tuesday night, the Cubs will assure themselves of finishing NO WORSE than third in the district (because of the fact that they swept Sycamore and will have swept CreekWood).

Sycamore knows that they can beat Waverly and I'm sure Waverly does not really want to see Sycamore when tourney time rolls around. Congrats to the Tigers on a regular season trophy, but now the question is will you win in the posteason??? We will all find out in two weeks in Dover.

Waverly is the best team in the district, if in doubt check their record. Secondly they have great fans just as Creek Wood, Cheatham County, Montgomery Central and Stewart County has. However what they dont have is spoiled middle class brats who are so immature, lack self-esteem and self confidence that they have to come to high school games to curse and belittle people who they know cant respond to them. In the end however if these people feel better about themselves hiding behind "the crowd" then I guess it serves a purpose. High School sports is great and their are alot of great players, coaches, cheerleaders, and FANS.

as far as any tie breakers here's how it works .1.head to head

2. record v. higher rank

3.coin toss

this is according to dist. 10aa bylaws .

looks like the tourney in dover is going to be a wild one.

if both cheatham and harpeth win out harpeth will be 2 cheatham 3.

if iwas in the 2 spot i would want stewart to beat central next week they can be dangerous at home .

Alright i have a question.....If Harpeth beats Montgomery Central and loses to Sycamore, Sycamore and Harpeth will have the same record. Who gets what seed? Sycamore has beaten CW twice and CW swept Harpeth but Harpeth beat Cheatham both times and Sycamore lost twice. Im confused does it go to a coin flip or what, someone please enlighten me.

A lot of debate about the officiating in the game and whether it really cost Sycamore the game or not. Although I am biased towards Waverly I try to be objective when looking at things. I'll be the first to admit we (Waverly) were very fortunate to come out with the win. I also think any Waverly fan with any knowledge at all about basketball realizes the same thing. I have to give Sycamore coaches credit for not going absolutely nuts following the three major calls against them. It was not doubt three of the worst calls I have witnessed and in this case, probably did cost them the win.

As for the game itself, it was a fun game to watch as Waverly dominated early while building a 20 point lead in the 3rd quarter with Ricco doing basically anything he wanted to do. However, Sycamore started doing what every team now realizes you can do against Waverly and that is full court press. It enabled them to get easy turnovers and conversions. I am confident the Tigers will realize this weakness and work on correcting it before tournament time.

Congrats to the Tigers for winning the regular season title and earning a place in the region. It's a great group of seniors who have stayed together and worked hard the past 4 years. I think this leadership will prove invaluable as they make their way towards a possible substate berth. Stay hungry Tigers.

Furthermore, since the mantle of head coach has been vacated, upon whom would you bestow the mantle of leadership?

Might one contemplate this notion from such a perspective? Allow me to clarify that my intent does not lean towards disparagement, save for instances where provocation is directed towards myself or the esteemed troupe of the Trousdale County Yellow Jackets who proudly find domicile upon the hallowed grounds of CREEKBANK. In contemplation of the candidates under discussion, it is conjectured that individuals such as Gregory, Woodmore, Vetetoe, Eden, Hackett, and Cothron may emerge as contenders. Regrettably, it is deemed improbable that Shoulders shall express interest in this pursuit. Speculation arises regarding the potential candidacy of BJ West, albeit the implications of familial ties with Lafayette introduce complexities to such a scenario. The enigma of Dr. Clint's deliberations looms large, fraught with the weight of a formidable decision yet to be made.
    • My kind sir, you seem to be lost within the time space continuum having traveled from the 16th Century or you aspire to hide your true intelligence by masking your language with that of the great playwright. You know good and well, your commentary takes your fellow comrades hours to decipher what you are really saying and most of them are likely left questioning whether you have insulted them or find them to be in your favor. I offer you some advice. In my travels through this area of the country, it is best to speak slow and with a twang and you don't annunciate  words to their fullest. Your points will be clear then!  Any names been mentioned around town as Actual Applicants to this job? Seen several post mentioning individuals, but I haven't heard of any of them except for Shoulders. Does he have ties to TC?  Have amy of the other names mentioned ever been in the HC position before?
