It will never happen. There are numerous middle schools that operate just fine without being sanctioned by the TSSAA. On that note....other than the catastrophic insurance, there is no advantage to being a sanctioned TMSAA school. As far as the schools that are not TMSAA, parents fill out either the proof of insurance form or affidavits claiming they will accept responsibility in the case of an injury. Im not sure what the current minimum claim for TSSAA is for catastrophic insurance, but the last time I heard it was around 35k....something you hope you will never have to use. If the TSSAA provided a playoff system comparative to football there would be more schools happy to pay the annual fee to be sanctioned but they dont. We are currently in a confernece where all of the high schools are sanctioned but only half of the middle schools are. Schools have grown smart about shelling money out every year for nothing (so to speak). Hope this helps.

    • Yes this process is moving slower than I would have expected
    • also was told coady auston applied, he served as defensive coordinator for greenfield under don pitt several years ago before going to Obion county
    • TSSAA restrictions for hiring non-faculty coaches have been removed for over a year at this point. In the past a non-faculty person had to be "grandfathered" by being an assistant coach for five years, being fingerprinted, and having a background check run per TSSAA rules... since those were rescinded, the board of directors for the school district are responsible for any/all restrictions on hiring non-faculty personnel. I guess what I'm saying to you is that if you really wanted what you posted, it's already possible as long as your local BOE will allow for it.

    • Are you trying to say you didn't find Seven and ShadySlim going at it?
