The natural half bowl could have been an awesome venue if it was utilized correctly. They could have done something like Dorman or Gaffney in SC.

If I was looking for a game to help me later on in the season, I'd head across the mountain to the Upstate Area of South Carolina. The schools are similar in size to D-B and S.H. but they are loaded with speed that they would see later in the playoffs. I'd like to see Maryville head that way for a non-region game. PS. I wish they would build a tunnel under Asheville. I used to think driving though the Pigeon River gorge was the worst part of the trip (from Knoxville). Now it's Asheville construction.

Crockett would have made it until they played a school from Knox County. 5A has been pretty much Knoxville/Knox County except for a few years lately.

Well it's a large school in a single high school district that can allow students who do not live in the District to attend. There are only a few that meet this criteria. The one thing it doesn't have, is a large population area right next to the district.

What a play.I wondered, when it happened, how long it would take one of the new Shelby County municipalities school systems to win a State Championship.
