Indian
Looking at some stats this morning, one of the winning teams in the Chattanooga had 60 kills listed out of 106 points scored. Does this seem a little high? I wasn’t there, but they also had 11 aces, meaning they had 60 kills out of 97 points after the initial serve? Another game, a team I would expect to be good, Baylor, had 36 kills out of 75 points. Another team had 22 kills out of 75 points. A game I did see, the winning team had 6 kills out of 75. The opposing team had a lot of trouble playing serves and a lot of points were on aces. Am I just not up to speed on what’s considered a “kill?†Any help for an exact definition? flyjgray
Stats aren't that accurate in High School volleyball. I just saw that Sale Creek had 170 digs in a match. Some teams count every ball contact as a dig and every score a kill.
Indian
Yeah I was referring to Sale Creek too. Had one player listed with 50 assists in 106 points scored.
anotherback
Yes a coach can keep stats to justify moves but stats are also at the keepers discretion. To me at certain points in close matches is the only true stat that matters. If you say have 10 kills against a team that can't pass on 12 attempts that's great but 7 out of 12 against a team that can is better.
