Shelbyville Central High School senior Jarred Frazier has signed a full scholarship to further his education and baseball career at the University of Tennessee. "It's a dream come true to have the opportunity to play college baseball, especially in the SEC," Frazier remarked. "It's an outstanding conference with a lot of great players." Frazier, a standout shortstop and outstanding student, chose the Volunteers over Vanderbilt, Middle Tennessee and Tennessee Tech. He has started at shortstop for the Eagles since his freshman year and has been one of the leading hitters on the team, batting .318 as a freshman, .368 his sophomore year and .346 last year as a junior. He was named to the All-District 8-AAA team as a sophomore and junior and All-Region his junior year. He was also voted the team's MVP as a sophomore. He's been the starting quarterback and a defensive back for the Eagle football team the past two seasons and was voted "Mr. Central" by his classmates. Frazier's talent, skills and ability was first noticed by Coach Rod Delmonico last summer when he was chosen to play for Tennessee's team in the Sun Belt baseball organization in Oklahoma. "It was a huge honor for Jarred to be chosen to play the past two summers on Tennessee's team in Oklahoma. Just about every Division I baseball coach attends those games and he really played well and even made the all-tournament team," Coach Hall said.)
