2004 All-State First Team volleyball player by the Tennessee Sports Writer's Association, and was named to the 2003 TSWAA All State first team her junior year. Thayer was the regional Most Valuable Player in 2004, and was All-District First team in 2002. 2003, and 2004. Along with her volleyball accomplishments, Thayer is the ACHS Valedictorian for the class of 2004, and president of the ACHS National Honor Society, FCA, and DECA clubs. She is an accomplished track athlete as well, qualifying for the 2004 state track meet in High Jump and 4 x 200, and the 2003 state track meet in the Pentathlon.
