  1. Have heard that an option out there for DII is to have a "Super 12" division of the 12 largest private schools, then divide the remaining schools by size. IF that were true, how would it look? Well, according to TSSAA numbers, it would look something like this if all schools opted to go D2: AAA (Super 12) Baylor Brentwood Briarcrest Christian Brothers Father Ryan Knox Catholic Knox Webb Lipscomb MBA McCallie PJP II St Benedict AA District 1 East Boyd CAK CCS Grace Christian Notre Dame Silverdale District 2 East BGA CPA Davidson Ensworth Franklin Road Goodpasture District 1 West St George USJ Trinity JCS Harding District 2 West Evangelical Christian MUS Northpoint Lausanne First Assembly A District 1 East Concord Christian Grace Baptist Kings Academy St Andrews TN Christian District 2 East DCA Ezell-Harding MJCA MTCS Zion District 1 West Clarksville Academy Columbia Academy Friendship Christian Grace Franklin Nashville Christian District 2 West Fayette Memphis Cath Rossville Tipton Rosemark
  2. Word is that Tennessee Christian in Cleveland will be joining TSSAA in D2
  3. Rumors of who has applied: Courtney Braswell - DC Bradley(former assistant at Central) Drew Akins- OC Ooltewah Tony Webb - HC Lookout Valley Toby McKenzie - HC Tenn Christian (former assistant at Central) David Gann - HC North Murray (GA) Tim James - Assistant Lafayette (GA)(former assistant at Central)
  4. Saw this topic and could not believe the coincidence. Just saw a head coach this morning who was talking about Chatt Central and said he got his first job in coaching there in 2005 as running back coach. Said that those boys deserve a quality coach and one that isn't looking to it a a "lay over" job.
  5. Don't really follow either team, but saw it listed in paper today. Sale Creek has two lopsided losses to Richland and Copper Basin. Got first win against upstart Concord Christian. TC has played two ranked opponents in Boyd and Rockwood and a loss at Oliver Springs. They were up at half at OS. Anyone's thoughts?
  6. They played a JV schedule last year except for Copper Basin. Not sure why. But after watching some of their highlights online, they have got some athletes. That FB is a beast. Kinda reminds me of the kid Polk had a few years ago. I think OS, SC, TP, LC, GB, LV, and CB are all winnable for them. Now back to this game. Final score? I predict 48-14. TCPS score a TD in first half and in 2nd after Boyd pulls some starters.
  7. Here is Tennessee Chriistian schedule according to their website: 8/21 @ Boyd 8/28 @ Oliver Springs 9/4 @ Rockwood 9/11 vs Sale Creek 9/18 vs Lancaster Christian 9/25 @ Tellico Plains 10/9 @ Grace Baptist 10/16 vs Copper Basin 10/23 @ Lookout Valley 10/30 @ Sweetwater If they asked for the game then I gotta give them some props. They said they'd play you when others in the area refused. They'll lose but they're supposed to. I do see some winnable games on their schedule. Maybe finish 3-7, 4-6. That's a good season for a 1st year program.
  8. I heard the other day that they plan on joining TSSAA in 2017
  9. Talked to their head coach the other day at Jenkins. I know they will have some homeschoolers next year and that they have had some transfers from Bradley and Chatt Central. Also, had kids from other schools in Bradley that don't have football (the really small private schools). He said the plan is to join TSSAA in 2017 after the whole public/private decision is made by the board. This is an up and coming program and is really looking to establish themselves like Boyd has. It will take some time but I think he coached at Boyd a few years ago so he knows what a great program like that looks like from the inside.
  10. According to the Cleveland Banner: TCPS 44-0 over Gordon Lee TCPS 55-12 over Polk
  11. Not sure what the final score will be. I think Basin wins this one, but I would not be surprised if they were in for a fight. Know TCPS coach well, they are trying to build the athletic program and the school the right way. It may be a couple of years, but soon they will be a heck of a team here in Bradley County.
  12. I don't have a dog in this fight, but seeing as how Allen is always "looking", I thought that the Purple faithful would like some numbers crunched. Central may in fact be better off if Allen was to leave, according to the numbers. Allen at Bradley, 2005 (1-9) 10% winning Bradley since, 2006-2013 (41-40) 50.6% Allen at Silverdale, 2006-2010 (23-29) 44 % Silverdale since, 2011-2013 (21-8) 72% Allen at Central, 2011-2013 (8-19) 29% As they say on ESPN, numbers never lie So, as an outsider looking in I just wanted to see what the records said. I wish Central the best of luck with the rest of the year. You guys (especially the players) deserve a great season.
  13. Congrats to the Cherokees on a big win. Sounds like the running game was on fire. Over 400 yards rushing. Can't wait for the Bradley/Cleveland game. Will determine 2nd in district. Should be a great game. Y'all's offense is awesome. Hope our defense can contain it.
  14. Proud of how the Bears faught to the end. Looks like Cleveland game will determine 2nd and then crucial game at a tough McMinn.
  15. He lived in Charleston with his grandparents and mom until September/October of last year. He moved to McMinn during school year then attended McMinn this year which he is now zoned for. Totally legal move.
  16. Last year was quite a surprise to me with McMinn defeating Bradley for the title. Thought all year that it would come down to Bradley/Cleveland game. What are some of yall's thoughts on 2012. I believe that it will come down to Bradley/McMinn again. My Standings: 1a. McMinn County (Defending Champs)- Returning both O and D lines, and possibly adding another good back in Wells from WV (rumor?). Lose some athletes at WR and also lose senior QB. Can the Cherokees repeat as champs? 1b. Bradley - Lose key players in Stoval, Houston, and Benson. Return Bryce Copeland and Austin Sanders, both highly recruited. Can Coach Floyd and Co. finish with a District title? 3. Ooltewah - Lots of good talent returning for an Owls team the underachieved IMHO. Should give Bradley and McMinn good games. 4. Cleveland - With a new starting QB and new PROVEN Head Coach, Raiders look to start the climb back to the top! 5. Soddy Daisy - Haven't heard much on the Trojans this offseason. Should look to win more games this year. 6. Rhea County - The Eagles will fly a little higher and finish with 3 wins. 7. Walker Valley - Think Glenn Ryan will have the Mustangs in better situations, but if the rumors are true and Wells has left, then I can't see them winning more than 2 games.
  17. Cleveland High School is open. Walker Valley and Marion have been filled.
  18. There are some young area coaches with Cleveland ties. Brandon Fields is an assistant at Ooltewah and played at Cleveland. He also played at Tennessee Tech and I think Arena 2 (may be wrong on that). And McKenzie Jr. also played at Cleveland and he is an assistant at McMinn Co. And I know Doug Green didn't have a great year at Rhea but he is an alum. With all of these alums at district rivals, and possibly looking to come home, why not take a look at them. If y'all are looking for a coach that knows the program and would have some stock in it, I would look at them. Maybe you could even hire one and he could get the other two to come with him. Now you would have a true Raider born and bred staff. Just my opinion.
  19. Best thing that could happen to Chatt Central. He came to Bradley promising A LOT and bailed after one season, leaving the football program thousands of dollars in debt. After he left we finally have had some success. If it is true I hope those boys at Chatt Central get a coach that will stay more than a year or two.
  20. From what I got from my sources, all three teams (McMinn, Baylor, and Tyner) looked pretty decent. I am not sure of the "score", but all three teams moved the ball and scored a few TDs a piece. Defenses look to be very good despite TDs on several jump balls and busted plays. My guess is that the score of Co./Central game will be McMinn Co. 52/McMinn Central 14
  21. Any Boyd lineman that could be named?
  22. Boyd-Buchanan: Ben Beasley, Running Back 126 carries 791 yards 6.28 yd/car 16 rushing TDs....stats so far. Just my opinion, but I think he is one of the best RBs in the state in 2A, if not the best. Really makes good decisions and sees the hole really well. He will be atop the list for Mr. Football Back. Only seen him play a couple of games (Red Bank, Notre Dame), but he is the REAL DEAL.
