  1. Not to sure about Baseball, this is a Basketball board. You can thank Leonard Price for that game against GP in District Tourney. If you are who I think you are you will know what I'm talking about. If you are someone different, then why are you all of the sudden interested in Pioneer sports. It looks like you just joined the forum today. Anyway there is nothing that can be done about the past, we can only learn from it.
  2. I'm not sure about a monkey on the back. We were 1-1 in football against Sevier Co. teams this year. So far this season we are 3-1 in basketball. GP is certainly capable of winning tonight. I think the best way to handle these next 7 games is ONE AT A TIME!
  3. According to the Greenville Sun, Chuckey Doak upset Union County 51-46 Sat. Night at Chuckey Doak. That is a shocker and just goes to show the balance in district 2AA.
  4. Explain your post. What Pioneers are you refering to?
  5. South Greene is 7-1 after a close win at GP last night which puts them in the drivers seat.
  6. Rutledge wins 72-71 on a shot by Matt Day with 2 seconds left. Rutledge battled back from a 10pt 4th quarter deficit to get the big win. Brandon Soloman scored 20 for Rutledge, and is developing into the 3rd scoring option for the Pioneers. He could take a lot of pressure off of Singleton and Day down the stretch.
  7. Should be atough one tonight at home for the Pioneers! They have a chance though. Gloryseeker, where are you? Any thoughts? Give me a call, I know who you are.
  8. Rutledge is fine, two close losses. It is a balnced district for the most part. Rutledge has eight district games left with 7 of them being at home. Basketball is a tournament sport. It only matters if you win at tourney time. Don't count the Pioneers out. Union has a good team and deserved to win. Congratulations to them.
  9. Cumberland Gap @ Rutledge will be played Sat. night.
  10. Fridays games in District 2AA: Union County(3-2) @ S. Greene (5-1) Pigeon Forge(4-0) @ W. Greeene (0-5) GP(2-4) @ Chuckey Doak (1-4) Cumberland Gap(1-3)@ Rutledge (4-2) Claiborne is 2-3 in the district. How do you think these games will turn out? They could all be close games except for the one mismatch.
  11. The regionals rotate every year between a District 1 site and a District 2 site. Morristown is a central location for all schools in District 2 so they choose to play their District tournament there. Since it is their year to also host the regionals they also play the regionals at the same site. This works out pretty well for the District 1 teams also. It is unfortunate that District 2 had to travel all the way to Elizabethton last year, but they don't seem to consider that in District 1.
  12. Claiborne beat GP last night 51-47 at GP.
  13. Regional will be at Morristown West this year. East is hosting the AAA Regional.
  14. Anybody know how the Claiborne @ GP game went. It was an interesting night in the district. Pigeon beat CD 73-54, South Greene only beat Cumberland by one, Union won big over W. Greene, and Rutledge had a good win over Seymour 68-61.
  15. I wouldn't get overly excited about this win. Hopefully you achieved this by using your reserves the entire second half like Rutledge and S. Greene did. I assure you that they would have had these same kind of scores and probably worse if they had played their starters in the 2nd half.
  16. Good hard fought game by both teams. Seymour fought back in the 2nd half from a 9 point deficit to take a 11 point lead with about 4 minutes left. Rutledge then rallied with a pressing defense and clutch buckets from Singleton and Day to take the win. Singleton finished with 30 and Day had 16. Seymour made 13 3's.
  17. Who plays tonight in District 2AA matchups?
  18. The stats that I added for Daniel Singleton are the most recent at 20.8 ppg. Prepxtra is missing his last game in which he scored 32.
  19. Matt Day- Rutledge 23.3 ppg Daniel Singleton -Rutledge 20.8 ppg
  20. Just wanted to bring this thread back to the top. How have the teams in 2AA been playing over the break. Haven't heard much on any of the teams. Things should get cranked back up this week. Let's keep this thread going and keep each other updated on the 2AA season. Not for smack talk, but good basketball talk. Good Luck to all teams in 2AA.
  21. Rutledge wins 94-89 in OT. Exciting game for fans. Both teams were coming off of long breaks, so it wasn't always pretty, but it was never boring. Daniel Singleton led Rutledge with 32, Matt Day had 24, and Dexter Lowe added 20. Good win for the Pioneers.
  22. Chill, just curious, what have you seen out of Cumberland Gap to give them Honorable mention? From looking at their scores they haven't won much.
  23. Wow! What a game! Bad 3rd quarter fro Rutledge, but they showed a lot of poise and character after blowing the big lead. Day was amazing and should be a candidate for the PREPXTRA POW next week. Daniel is up for the award this week and currently leads. Pioneer fans should go to prepxtra.com and vote for him! It is always good to beat Gibbs. It used to be a district game, but there is still no love lost between these teams.
  24. I think Pigeon because of the big kid Norris. You must consider these to be the 3 best teams and it may very well be. I hope that means you are overlooking Rutledge who is 4-1 with all of those being road games.
  25. That is an interesting score from Cumberland and Chuckey. What are the Big games in the District this Friday other than Rutledge and S. Greene?
