News-Sentinel is still awful. High School sports are still undercovered and inaccurate. I do not see this changing until a new paper comes along, which hopefully is soon. I have an intense hate for the News-Sentinel.
Were the All-District, All-District Tournament, and All-Region Tournament teams and awards (for District 4-A/AA and Region 2-A/AA) ever announced? If so, what were they? I never saw any of them listed in the News Sentinel. Thanks.
No, other people did. They were ranked number one nationally at one point, I believe. And personally, I think it was well deserved. They beat Bearden 4-0, Farragut 3-0, and Catholic 4-1. Still, they didn't seem to be playing as well by the state tournament, although Division II is VERY difficult. They had to go to PKs just to make it out of the first round, and ultimately served their first loss in the championship to BGA on penalties.
Walter was right on. Catholic 3-0. Pigeon Forge wasn't all that different from last year. Good team that could make it to state if they were in another region. Very physical, almost to the point of being a dirty team. They received four or five yellow cards.
Somebody (easttnref):
a.) Doesn't know what the definition of recruiting is
b.) Hasn't heard of open-zone public schools
c.) Should stop posting before he makes himself look like even more of a fool
If it's AAA, it's Bearden, Farragut, and some other teams I don't remember because I don't follow AAA>
In A/AA, it's Catholic, CAK, Scott County, Loudon, Oneida, Kingston, Stone Memorial, Anderson County, and Oliver Springs
District 4-A/AA Semifinals
Catholic, Stone Memorial, Kingston, and CAK all won. I'm guessing it's Stone Memorial at
Catholic and Kingston at CAK? Can anyone confirm this?
soccerplayr: Implying that others are stupid when you clearly have difficulty using proper spelling and grammar doesn't make you look good; instead it makes you look like an elitist hypocrite.
Catholic scored 14 on Scott County last year. At some point in the game (probably after 4 or 5), the players were instructed to only score on volleys. And they did.
