I would say Greeneville has 4, maybe 5 seniors who should be in this game and would perform well. Just sayin...

If the games are moved anywhere, they should be moved to Piney Flats or Bean Station. The reasons are far too numerous to mention.

Not sure if you really meant that in a nice way or not, but knowing most of the players and coaches personally, I don't think any of them walked on that field Friday night knowing they would lose. Please pardon the age-old addage, but "Rome wasn't built in a day", and Greeneville is building a program very similar to what you have there. Let's talk again in 2 or 3 years. Best of luck Saturday! I believe there will be some Greeneville folks in the stands cheering on the Rebels.

Greeneville got robbed, Maryville cheated, the refs stole the game from us, the hot chocolate was too weak, the seats were cold. Oh wait a second. I'm sorry. I was just practicing my Bonnieblue, et al, impersonation... Hats off to an outstanding Maryville football team. What a finely tuned orchestra! Very impressive and I for one, being an eyewitness can tell you we gave it all we had and it didn't matter. But, you know what? We will get better from it. Greeneville is a very young football team. A lot of offensive starters graduating but some good youngsters to fill their shoes. Only losing 3 from a defense that has improved every game, well until last night, that is. Also, thank you for being the class act you are, not only players and coaches, but the fans too. Very graceful winners! Devils, don't hang your heads! Be proud for making it further than most thought you could. I want to apologize to all the SS cry babies on here. If we had not stolen the quarter-final from you, I'm sure you would have put Maryville right in their place. Keep the train rolling and the streak alive Maryville! We're pulling for you next week (not that you need it).

Yes, we have some fans who post their own trash, also. I just couldn't possibly predict a final score, but I've read a number of posts that say Greeneville has no chance of putting up double figures. What is different this year is this: I sent your bus driver directions to the Greeneville stadium. Once he gets off I-40 at exit 287 and realizes he's in Cookeville, it'll be too late...forfeit! Sorry, but all is fair in love and war.

I don't think Barb meant anything personal. She's got to be one of Greeneville's biggest fans. I should hope no matter what you read on these boards you will find the Greeeneville faithful Friday night to show as much class as possible, no matter the outcome. One thing to remember also while reading these boards is that GHS has as many folks in Greene County rooting against them as they do for them. IMO, there are a few imposters on here stirring the pot whenever they can. I truly wish these boards would shut down during the playoffs. My three wishes are that Greeneville can do what nobody else has done the past 73 games, that nobody gets hurt, and that Maryville players, coaches, parents and fans will leave Greene County Friday night without the impression that we are all a bunch of backwoods hillbilly's. I know, I know...2 out of 3 won't be that bad either.

Greyrider, I don't believe its hate. IMO, its just the old American instinct to want to see the underdog prevail. I certainly didn't intend to say people hate Maryville. If everyone is honest about it, they have a lot of respect for the program. I know I do.
