I rewrote a reply several different ways and there is no way to say it on this forum. It is inappropriate. All I can say is we can wait and see how the season progresses and ends. Time will tell.

I like the idea of placing 4 qualifiers from 4 semi states into a 16 man state tournament. This sport hasn't grown so big that we need to have more than 1 state champ. You could have a Regional, Semi State and State Tournament instead of Regional to State and combine Division 1 and 2.

No, I don't know all of the details but the question was refering to was basically someone saying mind your own business and let the parents deal with it. I'm speaking beyond the wrestling world and about our youth in general. The point is that we shouldn't bury our heads in the sand for someone else to deal with. We should stand up for what is right and stand firm based on principle. Demand that these kids conduct themselves properly. And as it apply's to wrestling. I have seen what can happen to a team that is not held accountable and made to behave.

Like it was said in an earlier thread. If Abrigo doesn't get in shape and put his head on straight he will hit a brick wall with one of these guys. But he is going down to 145. I heard Felix is as well. Their both small 152 pounders.

That is exactly the attitude or position that has gotten us into trouble today. We have a social responsibility to all kids and to the sport. What happens to Coffee or any other athlete either damages or helps the sport. Wrestling is supposed to be about the ultimate lesson in Sacrifice, Dedication, Respect, and Character. I see kids with no respect these days. In most cases they behave awfully. It's because parents are to busy until their kid gets disciplined and then they do everything to protect them from the punishment. We need to stand up for what is right in our community and sports. We all have an affect on one another. This is LIFE. Burying your head in the sand is irresponsible.

Cody Quick can't catch a break. When he returns remove all sharp objects, girls, driving priviledge and smokeless tobacco from him until state is over.

Don't forget Dustin Ortiz of Franklin at 130. Ty Zarbo is going 135. Brentwood 112 pinned the East Lit kid 12/12.

Win the tournament!! omg A dude gets beat in the finals and he gets Outstanding wrestler. Everyone is right about Abrigo. If he doesn't get it into gear he is going to get beat. There have been a lot in the threads about the early matches he lost last year and they were for the same reason.

Morgan Abrio won the McGavock at 152. I think he beat Justin Scott from Hillwood by 6.

What about the other proctor?

I think all younger brothers benefit from the paths their older brothers pave for them. For all of you older brothers out there you have a great responsibility for your sibling. Don't blow it. Great job Soms!

Taylor Abrigo at Forrest High School was an eighth grader who qualified for state last year Div 1. Forrest middle and high school are on the same campus.

Winning Junior Nationals is an accomplishment to say the least, but a much better indicator would be Fargo, World School boy, or Senior Nationals.

Is Evansville Mater dei wrestling in the Brentwood tourney this year? I think they wrestle in it every other year and they sat it out last year.
