Soddy Daisy 2 Riverdale 0 Both goals by Soddy in the first half , one off a corner kick set play. Frustrating game for the Warriors as they outshot Soddy 17-6 by my count, including a couple shots off the crossbar. Soddy's defense was strong a usual. Hopefully there will be the rematch at substate again. MVM, didn't see you or I would have gotten you that dog.

Shelbyville played hard, had some scoring chances early and only gave up the header goal by Kirstin on a corner kick. Your goalie made some super plays all game. Anyway I thought they looked pretty good.

They graduated 3 division one college players. I know every team loses players to graduation. At Riverdale, we had 5 girls move on to college, only 1 that is continuing her soccer career. We also lost 3 underclassmen who were probably all going to be starters this year due to economic factors as their parents moved out of state for job reasons. Has the economy caused this issue at other schools as well? Just curious

I don't have a dog it in this hunt, but FRA has traditionally been a much stronger team than either JCS or USJ. If history repeats itself, I suspect FRA will do will in D2-A. It will be interesting to see how they match up against ECS or whoever is the strongest from the west.... Just an observation but what is going on at FRA. They are struggling as bad as I've ever seen so far. Does anyone have the insight on this???

BGA 5 Riverdale 2 Hopefully a tough scrimmage schedule and non-district schedule will benefit the Warriors come district time. Couple of holes to fill with some youngsters who just need playing time.

My daughter is pretty bummed about this, especially with her being a senior this coming year. Coach McDowell will do just fine and knows most of the girls from his previous stint a assistant coach. I'm happy for Arman and his family.

Doesn't matter if the keeper was great or terrible. If he only had to make two saves it doesn't sound like Riverdales offense was up to par, no matter the field conditions. It goes back to the Columbia loss, if you take care of business there, I feel you guys would have beaten McMinn and be playing today.

I think it was more a case of Columbia picking up their play than Riverdale packing it in. Riverdale still had their share of offensive opportunities and nearly made it 3-0 early in the second half, but Columbias defense played well. It seemed like Riverdale just tried to clear everything instead of controlling and passing to get the ball out of their zone. I expect them to rebound today and give Cleveland a great game.

I guess we get to find out first hand if Cleveland is as good as their ranking. I was hoping to meet them at the state tourney instead only one of us will be going. I'm sure Coach Arman will have them ready to rebound from the loss to Columbia. Go Warriors

The tackle by #21 definitely could have gotten a straight red, but not many refs are gonna call that that early in the game. If #21 had been thrown out, the result would have been different because #21 played like a beast out there. Every goal kick by Columbia, #21 was first to the ball in the air with headers that continued the ball toward the Riverdale goal. His throw ins were another reason they kept the pressure on as the first goal came off his throw in. Also the sweeper had some major speed and was able to stop a couple of breakaways in the second half.

Columbia Centrals not the only team from that town coming to Murfreesboro tonight. Columbia Academy will be playing MTCS at 7:30 tonight at MTCS. A son of a friend is on CA and it would be nice to see that game, but will be at Riverdale instead. CA has a very strong record but I'm not too familiar with many A/AA teams. Anybody up to speed with these teams care to comment, would be appreciated.

Not sure they will need to score three to win. Only given up 11 all year and beat Columbia 2-0 earlier this year. Looking for the same kind of score tonight, weather permitting.

Congrats to Columbia on their win over Siegel. Most posters, including myself, thought Siegel would be the winner of this matchup. See you at Riverdale on Thursday.

Gotta give props to the athletes at Franklin Co. They came out and gave Riverdale all they could handle. Both teams had chances in the first half, but it ended 0-0. Second half was mostly Riverdale as the final score of 3-0 would indicate. It appeared that Franklin Co's short bench, looked like only 5 or 6 deep, caught up with them as several of their players looked gassed in the second half, but again a great effort on their part. Coach Arman needs to bottle his halftime speeches as Riverdale was a different team after halftime. Good luck against Columbia in the regional finals. Go Warriors
