I'm not bashing the coach, did you happen to see AC play Loudon last year in the District Championship? What do you think the root cause of them losing to an inferior team was in that game. Dont confuse Coach Bashing with facts!

Very well put. I revert back to the terrible job of coaching he did during the District Tournament last year. Loudon beat AC for one reason and one reason only, Coaching.

The Lady Mavs host the Lady Jackets tonight. These are probably two of the weaker teams in this district. The Mavs seem to be playing better now then they did at the beginning of the season. The Lady Jackets arent doing as well as they had been. With the loss of Hardin for breaking team and school rules, and Gentry quittting the team, no one has stepped up for them yet. It looks like their Coach is trying different things so they look confused on the court. My guess is it will be a close one. If the Lady Jackets decide to crash the boards and force the ball inside they will win. They should also get Mergen and Raye off the bench and on the floor with Smith. If they do, they will own the boards and should be able to score. Looking forward to watching and seeing what their coach will do.

I knew Marcum only needed a chance. He's a very knowledgeable coach. If those girls stay with it, he can build a pretty good team. I'm not saying they'll win the state or anything, but they'll be taken serious by whomever they play or someone will be in for a surprise.

Congratulations to Scott County. They played a good game Friday. Things arent going well for the Lady Jackets right now. They lost a Junior Point Guard last week for, well lets just say she violated school and team rules. Then last Wednesday, their leading scorer quit the team. She also was a Junior. Hopefully they can right their ship before Districts get here. They are young (1 Sr and 1 Jr left, everyone else are So. and Fr). Again, congratls to Scott County, it looks like Marcum is making progress.

Where do you coach? I believe there is a Lady Chargers Basketball Program at Univ. Ala. Huntsville, is that you?

I just read the Girls AP's top 10. Why isnt Loudon listed? They didnt even list them in the additional teams that got votes. Stone Memorial is listed as 6th, nothing against them but hasnt Loudon split with them thus far this year with Loudon just beating them recently? I'm from Kingston and even I think Loudon should be in the top 10. I guess that shows just how unimportant the AP rankings really are.

I would be interested in hearing both sides of the story. It sounds unbelievable to me. If it were true, the coach should be fired!

O.S. is a pretty tough place to play but I'll still pick Stone in a close one.

I would love to see a shot clock in h.s. basketball. My daughter plays AAU and they use one. It makes the game much more enjoyable to watch.

Ha, thats pretty darn funny. Hopefully AC will rebuild and at some point within the next couple of years be back where they've been in the past.

What happened to your 20 win season?

AC lost - 62-41 to Powell. They are now 0-10. They play Carter on the 22nd. This will be one they can possibly win and probably should win. If they lose to Carter, its going to be a very, very, very long season for them.

Whats everyone think about this one? I know Loudon is a good team and Kingston has struggled at the beginning of the season but they have shown some improvement lately. Will this one be close or a runaway?

Thats quite the revealing statistic. Hey Hopi, I went to the Stone Memorial vs CAK game last night and someone told me that AC's best player is a girl named Whitney, is that the same Whitney that was on the Raiders AAU Team?

Even if Stone overlooks CAK and is thinking about Clarkrange, they will still beat CAK. I'm curious why you think CAK is so "Impressive"? Who have they beat that you consider is a good team? I looked at their schedule and from what I see, they really havent played a "good" team. I saw them play Kingston and they were actually behind at the half (19-18). I realize they ended up winning by 10 or 11 but Kingston is very young and I wouldnt consider them that good. I guess we'll know around 9:00 tonight!!

Stone will win BIG! First, they are a run and gun team with very good shooters. CAK will struggle to keep pace. Novikoff wont be able to run the floor and once they sit her down to catch her breath, CAK wont stop Stone. I think if Stone wants to , they will win by +20.

I've read your previous post where you stated losing the Dupree sisters shouldnt make that much of a difference. I disagree with you even though I believe the biggest problem they are currently facing is the head coach. When you lose the type impact players that the Dupree Sisters are, you are going to struggle until someone steps up. So far, no one on their current roster can fill that void.

I just looked at their remaining schedule. Just a guess but I would say the best case scenerio for the number of wins they can possibly get before the District Tournament will be 12

I dont know about the "great athletes" part, and I didnt say they would beat Kingston, I said they would have a chance. I do agree they should win a few other games, they should beat Carter and possibly Catholic also. Might be able to pull out a win over Scott County but it wont be a gimmie.

As far as I know, AC still hasnt won a game. Their best chance will probably be against Kingston who is also struggling this year. They've won a few games but its been against weak teams.
