  1. Scott should be able to beat Gibbs. Kingston just played them last Friday. Although Kingston lost, there was more to the story than the final score. Evidently the coach thought some of the starters werent listening to what he wanted them to do. His solution was to start all Freshman, which he did. They were down by 18 with just under 3 minutes left in the half when he put his starters back in. The starters played the remainder of the game and actually got back to within 3 points but losing in the end by 5. If they had played to win, they would have. The coach was sending a message to his girls that they will either listen and do what he says or they can sit on the bench. Hopefully the message he sent is taken seriously and this team begins to play up to their capability. Good luck to Coach Marcum and the Lady Highlanders.
  2. They're terrible!!! What you fail to comprehend is that there are all kind of very good high school athletes, however, they may be very good in other sports, that by no means is an indicator that they are good basketball players!!! I believe they will lose again tonight against CAK even though CAK isnt that good.
  3. Kingston pulls one out winning 51-42. They play Harriman tonight and should win it as well.
  4. Any freshman from Stone Memorial get playing time? If so, who are they and how are they performing?
  5. Until someone proves they can beat Stone, I'll continue to pick them to win. They have a lot of talent.
  6. Rockwood visits Kingston tonight. Neither team is a powerhouse but based on what they've done so far, it should be a good game.
  7. I dont know how good or bad they were last year but I saw them play Kingston in the Gibbs Thanksgiving Day Tournament. The Kingston Girls team isnt that good and they beat Rutledge in this tournament.
  8. 12-27 Kingston girls play Wartburg @11:30 12-28 Kingston girls play Vanburen County @5:30 12-29 Kingston girls play Cumberland County @ 1:00
  9. The weather in Iowa has evidently had an extreme negative impact on your brain. What does having a good Volleyball team have to do with having a good basketball team? I know AC has a very good volleyball team, however, this by no means has anything to do with them having a good basketball team. Have they won a game so far this year in basketball? What is their overall record?
  10. Can Kingston finally put everthing together for 4 quarters and pull out a win?? I havent seen Gibbs play but I believe they lost to Rutledge in the Gibbs Thanksgiving Tournament. Why are the LadyJackets struggling so much? I know they've got girls that can play, it just seems like no matter how hard they seem to be trying, they find a way to lose.
  11. You cant be serious!! Evidently you're working on a comedy routine because I've read several of your posts and it is quite obvious you know absolutely nothing about basketball!!! You are right about one thing, it wouldnt be an upset if AC beat SM, it would be an absolute MIRACLE!! Stone wins this one by as many as they want to!!
  12. What world are you living in???? If you really believe AC will beat Stone Memorial, please tell me you're a betting man/woman. I would love to take that bet!!!
  13. Anderson County will lose another one! Stone is the team to beat in their district and to be honest, I dont see anyone doing that. Stone probably wont get challenged until the Regional Tournament. Loudon might give them a game but I dont see them losing to them either. After Stone and Loudon, the quality of basketball really drops off in this district. The rest of the teams in this district have some very good ball players, however, it takes more than just one or two on a team to win. Also remember, Stone will more than likely move up to AAA in a couple years based on what I've been told. The rumor is that their enrollment currently exceeds 1000 students which will move them up.
  14. Congratulations to the Lady Highlanders. I sure hope you're referring to them winning against a team that had beat them (the Highlanders)previously.
  15. Kingston loses to CAK, I believe the final was 44-33. Novikoff finished with 21 pts and 18 rebounds. Kingston lead at half 19-18 and had pretty much done a good job denying Novikoff the ball. I'll bet she didnt have but 5 or 6 pts in the first half. Unfortunately, you can only slow her down for so long.
  16. With Stone Memorial and Loudon being the top two teams in this district, this game could determine who will finish 3rd. Who will win this one?
  17. who did they play friday and what was the score?
  18. I've heard this year that the refs have been told to look closer at two areas, charging and hand checking. I've notice a lot more charging calls this year. As for the hand checking, I've heard a lot of refs giving warning to players during the game to get their hands off their opponent. Its only a matter of time until they begin calling that. Also, I wish the refs would be more consistent in what they call as "over the back" on rebounds. Its getting to the point where kids that are strong and know how to box out still get called for over the back when in fact, they are purely going up hard for the rebounds. In my opioion, if two girls are going up for the same rebound, just because one is stronger than the other and she's able to pull it down with some authority and the other girl gets her arm tiedup in the process, that isnt "over the back". Thats the result of someone being determined to get the ball
  19. Kingston Girls were Runner Ups in the Gibbs Thanksgiving Tournament. They beat Carter and Rutledge and then lost to Clinton in the Championship Game. The teams that played in this tournament werent the strongest teams though. I would predict Scott will lose to Cumberland Gap (although it should be a pretty good game), and definitely lose to Stone Memorial (who will probably win this district). As for how they will do against Kingston, it will depend on which Kingston team shows up. If they play like they're capable, I would say Kingston will win in a close game. If not, Scott will win.
  20. It wasnt the coaches fault Dupree missed a shot, however, in the district championship against Loudon, it was the coaches fault for losing that game. AC was behind at the half, the second half he started getting the ball inside to Faith and her sister and they caught up and even went ahead, once he got the lead, he quit pushing it inside and let his daughter start shooting 3's which she missed most of them, then he pulled Faith out in the 4th qtr and basically let the game get out of control and ended up losing. Anyone watching that game knows they lost because of the coaches, period
  21. Boy, you can tell this is fast becoming a great rival!! I was glad to see Stone Memorial win but to be honest, when these two teams play, the outcome can go either way. Best of luck to both teams this season, except when you play Kingston.
  22. This could possibly be the best game thats been played so far. This will probably shock some O.S. fans being that I'm from Kingston, however, I'll say O.S. by 3 in OT.
  23. Other than Faith and her sister transferring, the only other reason I've heard for girls quitting and others not even trying out is due to the head coach. I dont know the coach but I did see them play for the District Championship last year when they lost to Loudon. They lost that game for one reason and one reason only, COACHING!!. There was no reason what so ever they should have lost, he gave that district championship away.
