  1. It seemed to me Harpeth felt like if they took the three away from CPA they could beat them but was not the case. Miller the leading 3 pt shooter for the team last year and only attempted 1 for the night and Anderson only attempted 2. It seems to me CPA is more about team ball and winning by what ever is right for the team they are playing against rather than trying to be the stats leader.
  2. Ensworth would have been the team to beat but with Jefferson out for the year it will be a tougher go for them although I still feel they will still be the D2 team to beat in Middle Tennessee.
  3. OK I was at the game and am reading all this stuff on what a great game it was. The 3 mysterious factors were called referees. Until LA started fouling to put CPA on the free throw line late in the 4th the foul count was 17 on CPA, 4 on LA. Not to mention the riduculus no foul calls on LA and the numerous other bogus calls on CPA. Miller from CPA was practtically getting mugged evertime he touched the ball. Mason was called for his 3rd and 4th foul 1 minute into the third. Miller was called for his 3rd and 4th in a 10 second span with 4 minutes to go in the game. His fourth fould being called on him after he was shoved to the ground from behind. All CPA starters finished the game with 4 fouls each. This is'nt sour grapes because CPA won the game. LA wants to call it pressure defense, in Nashville we call it home cooking. I have seen a lot of games in my day but that had to be the most biased one sided calling in one half that I have ever seen. I know LA is very passionate about their basketball and their fans were awesome but someone from LA needs to step up and as Paul Harvey used to say tell "The Rest Of the Story".
  4. CPA's heights are listed with the boys bare footed. David Anderson is #1 and 6'2", Hunter Miller is #23 and is 6'1", Kyle Reeves is #33 and is 6'3", Jake Peterson is #32 and is 6'3", Z Mason is #12 and is 6'5".
  5. Scrimmage or not, no team with aspirations of going to the state tournament wants to get dominated like Sycamore did against an opponent that they could meet up with later.
  6. Got drilled by CPA today by 30 and CPA did not have their big man Z Mason (Football)

Beat Sycamore by 30, Smyrna by 30, and East Ridge by 20, all without Z MAson
  8. If you take away the 19-0 train wreck that Goodpasture had, it could have been very easily 50-13 the rest of the game had GP not been so gracious as to take a knee on the 1 yard line with a minute to play. GP made adjustments through out the game CPA did not. I am a big CPA fan but am convinced if CPA coaching staff and players dont change their mind set it will be 50 - 13 this Friday and not in their favor.
  9. too many intangibles to make any team a lock at this point.
  10. I think the pressure is on CPA, the CPA coaching staff needs to do a true self evaluation of what it takes to win big ball games and quit trying to make a square peg fit in a round hole. I also think it is gut check time for some CPA players to decide if they want to win a big game or play to not lose. To win big games you have to have a mind set that you refuse to lose and in my opinion that needs to start with the coaching staff and filter on down to the players, otherwise this coming Friday will be the end of the seasn for CPA in a bigger defeat than the first time.

I would have to agree with your assessment. I do think one question mark is Lipscomb, I don't think they ever have to rebuild they just reload. The other would be MLK, should be a down year but again you can never count out a Doc Shelton team.
  12. I think it will be a shame for CPA, if the CPA coaching staff does not do a true self evaluation and quit trying to make a square peg fit in a round hole. I also think it is gut check time for some CPA players to decide if they want to win a big game or play to not lose. To win big games you have to have a mind set that you refuse to lose and imo that needs to start with the coaching staff and filter on down to the players, otherwise this coming Friday will be the end.
  13. Stand corrected 3 way tie but CPA would be the 3 seed.
  14. Z mason from CPA would have to be in that list. I don't know of any other local high schoolers that has shattered a backboard like Z Mason did at USN during team camp this summer.
  15. If Goodpasture beats CPA, I believe DCA would be the region Champion with Goodpasture 2nd and CPA dropping to 3rd.
  16. How big is Puckett from White County?
  17. I have seen BA, MBA, Ensworth, and Father Ryan play and I think Father Ryan will do no better than 8-2, but most likely 7-3, and I have an unbiased opinion as I have no ties to any of these schools. Father Ryan is a good team but I just don't think they can hang with their 3 remaining opponents.
  18. I have seen Ensworth and Father Ryan. I believe EHS will take care of Father Ryan the same as they did McCallie. They have even more speed then FR, their line might not weigh as much but are as tall and quicker, and with Bowers and Pack at the helm they will be hard to beat. I think MBA maybe the only team left on their regular season schedule that can stop them and I personally would not bet against EHS on that one either.
  19. Father Ryan has a good team, good running QB and TB, it will be interesting to see how they handle MBA, BA and even Ensworth. I tend to think they will struggle and have a hard time with those teams. CPA once again could not stop the run. CPA QB did have 5 picks but not all his fault. Teams are now keying in on 22 with double and triple teams yet the plays appear to still be called to get him the ball. They will definitely need to establish some type of consistent running game and more diversity in their pass play calling to advance in the playoffs.
  20. I think CPA has the components to make this a game if the best players are allowed to play both ways, which has not been the case since the new coach has been there. Otherwise CPA will have to put a lot of points on the board because the defense will struggle.
  21. Ensworth, too much speed, size, and probably two of the best coaches in the state in Bowers and Pack.
  22. CPA needs to figure out the problems on the line, and if they can they should take this game otherwise it's DCA's for the taking.
  23. Well you are absolutely wrong about the 60% because I know for a fact several Ensworth students/players are receiving nearly 100% financial aid. And just because the TSSAA says recruiting is not allowed it is a reality, but not just in the private sector. Do you think the Alcoa's and Maryville's of the world have all home grown talent.
  24. TN YOMCA Tigers can't. They have to many players in team camps.
  25. How did the Tennessee teams do in thsi Tournament? Any scores?
