  1. They might be good players for them in the future, but I don't think they're in the same league as a couple of these other guys.
  2. Yeah, Grimm will need a backbrace for the job he's done carrying Dickson this season. They're really a misleading team. Aside from him, no one else on the court really scares you. They don't shoot it well and their big guys are way down as compared to the last few years. But they keep it close for the most part, partly due to the style. If Henry gets the game in the open court, they win by 20+. If it's plodding, it'll be really close. A win here will avenge their earlier loss plus could give them sole possession of 4th place. My prediction -----"pain".
  3. Union City for sure, they're great to watch. As for Lake Co., I saw them earlier a couple of times and wasn't overwhelmed. They didn't look, act or play like state champions to me. But there is no denying the regular season they've put together. However tomorrow's game is a put up or shut up game for them and I'm definitely interested in seeing what happens.
  4. Henry has a 2 game lead for third. Northwest is fighting to stay out of the basement. I wouldn't say this game has HUGE implications but Northwest definitely needs it, probably more than Henry. If only we knew which Northwest team will show....
  5. I was wondering the same thing. They're a decent team, but top 10 in west tn? Same thing with Westview. I saw them early, maybe they've gotten that much better. But I was wondering why Clarksville was left off the list? Sure, they're a city school, but they include schools from Jackson. Finally, I think some consideration needs to be given to Harpeth and Henry Co. over some of the lower teams listed.
  6. Well, Northeast is the enigma at this point. I think most people expected them to be better than their current record. Northwest, to a lesser degree, is in the same boat. Dickson's record is to be expected by anyone who has seen them play, they simply don't have the interior that they are used to. Henry continues to chug away with a firm grasp on the 3rd slot. It'll be interesting to see if they can beat Springfield or Clarksville though. Springfield is consistently beating others in the district by single digits, so the question is are they definitely the 2nd best team in district. Finally you have Clarksville, which has steamrolled everyone up until last night. I'm not suprised Northeast played with them, but Northeast's play prior to last night didn't indicate they would. Still think Clarksville will go undefeated in district (which isn't necessarily a bad thing for the other teams come tourney time), Springfield will hold off Henry for 2nd and Northeast will finish strong.
  7. hey, i like this harpeth team too, but let's be real. there's no way they're beating liberty.
  8. watcher, we may disagree on the amount of talent on northwest, but we do agree on this. no one is coming within 12 points of clarksville without a GREAT effort and an off night by them. springfield had their opportunity at the start of the district season, and got blown out at home. and the reason that springfield won't beat them is because they cannot slow it down and run a halfcourt offense. also agreeing, dickson's style would be the team to beat them, except this year's dickson team is down and nowhere near the level they have been.
  9. i am not, but i do keep up with 10AAA basketball
  10. as for springfield, i think everyone is waiting for them to go on a run similar to what they did in the district tournament last year. with a senior laden group, i wouldn't think this team would be having the problems that i perceive them having through your posts. this was the one team that i thought would challenge clarksville for 1st, but if their first game was any indicator my prediction will be wrong. i still think they're the favorites for 2nd, but they need to take all 3 on this home stand because they finish up with 5 of the last 6 district games on the road.
  11. i wouldn't exactly say that a team 1-4 in the district, 8-9 overall, has a LOT of talent. from what i remember, they do have 1 player (was it 45?). the good sign for this team is, aside from clarksville, the district is very even and their schedule has quite a few home games remaining.
  12. They might make a run for 2nd or 3rd in their district, MIGHT. But this is a team that, if they do make regions, will be a 3 minute obstacle for any of the top teams previously mentioned. And yes, Big Sandy is a place. Not a place I'd like to go to again anytime prior to death, but a place. I think they have a gas station, and a school.
  13. How do you know that the player was humiliated? You act as if you interviewed the player post-game and asked him. Simply put, anybody that has spent time on the sideline of any sport knows everyone ticks differently, and it's the good coaches that know how to get their players to respond. I've seen Dickson's coach a few times, and I've never seen him do anything remotely out of line. Just because you are uncomfortable with his reaction doesn't make it wrong.
  14. waverly doesn't have much to hang their hat on this season. this was the 2nd time henry co has blown them out; dickson co and stewart co have done so as well this season. without trying to bash them, they've got alot of holes in their team. hc ate them up with full court pressure and dc manhandled them in the interior. they may be able to make a run in their district for a lower seed (outside of stewart co i'm not sure how their district looks) but they're in the wrong region to have any aspirations outside of that.
  15. absolutely. do they still have that jumbotron that shows replays? been a few years since i was there but it is an amazing environment.
  16. i've been watching west tenn basketball for the past few years, but i haven't seen many quality big men (6'6" and taller). who are they and who do they play for? any of these guys quality collegiate prospects?
  17. "I don't care what the rest of you think of my last post "freedom of speech" just like you have used your's. Every body has pointed there finger at this player since day one so why can't I point mine also, is it because it doesn't point the same way as the rest of you?" It's one thing to say that a player played a bad game, which was obvious for the entire team, but you basically questioned the boy's character and makeup. There's a HUGE difference there that I hope one day you'll be able to recognize.
  18. from what i hear, they are a young team. i think one of the missing football players is a senior, the other two underclassmen. with a new coach and without a dominant player i wouldn't be suprised to see a variety of starting lineups throughout the season, with all 3 of these young men possible candidates.
  19. "Henry co is missing one player due to football and he is a role player not a starter." untrue....henry county is missing 3 players that will have prominent roles on the team
