I do appreciate you saying I have guts; the problem w/ me getting on there however is that I am only certified in health/PE and there are not many job openings at the moment in that area. I have to concentrate on getting in the door somewhere for now but would very much like to land in Springfield at some point in my career.....

Well I graduated from Springfield in 1996, I was a soph. on the 1993 state title team and my # was, you probably guessed it, 38. I was in the ARMY from 96-2000, lived in Nashville for about a year and a half, Springfield again from 2002 to 2004, and have been living in Clarksville since then. I did just graduate from APSU. I would assume there is a good chance I seen you at a game but our age diff. may be a little much for us to know each other from high school.....

I actually touched basis w/ someone from Sycamore high today and the info I had gotten about a new HS in the county was a little missleading. I still plan to apply there but will more than likely land a job in Montgomery Co. or somewhere in Kentucky.....

Preferably football, and I cannot really label myself as a coach just yet as I am just trying to get my foot in the door. I just graduated this past Dec. and was not able to land a job so I will coach any sport as long as it lands me a job. I have already applied in Rob. Co. and was told that they may call this spring in anticipation for this fall. I will just have to wait and see how everything plays out. I am just working a non-teaching job and subbing for now.....

Honestly I have no idea atm, but considering there is a new HS, MS, and elementary school opening in Clarksville/Mont.Co and a new HS opening in Cheatham Co. all this coming fall I am sure it will be somewhere close by. I would imagine it will be at 1 of the new schools opening or at another school in those counties as a result of migration. I am just ready to get my foot in the door in some capacity this coming fall.....

I am not really familiar w/ this gentlemen but am pretty optimistic based on what has been said here so far. Also Hillsboro is a successful program and success breeds success so hey lets get this show started. I am really looking foward to next season even though I may be on a sideline somewhere I will still be rooting for Springfield.....

That is the key right there; you cant hand pick players in hs to fit your preferences like in college (most hs anyway).....

I believe that is a good idea; you have to schedule games thatyou know you may not win to get better. They may not go undefeated every year but come play-off time they will be better prepared.....

That is the key right there; even when it is more like a buisness it still has to be fun. When it stops being fun to you then that is when you may want to decide whether it is in your best interest to continue playing.....

I like it Moto and as a former player I would be delighted to participate in something like this. Having said that, I heard that Coach Offut was indeed resigning. This is just what I heard so if anyone knows anything more please post and let us know what is going on.....

Well dont be to hard on yourself buddy; we have all made mistakes in the past and regret them at some point. I am sure it felt like the right thing to do at the time and when you are young you dont always think things all the way through. Atleast you learned from that situation and you can educate your son and lead him in the right direction. Also, I didnt mean to bring back bad memories by asking and I certaintly hope I was not prying by doing so.....

Yeah I like Coach Christophel as well and believe he will turn the program around. I will still be attending grad school here and it would be nice to see your son play here. I have a feeling they might play him on defense at LB or maybe even fullback on offenese. I personally would like for them to play him at TB and line him up 7 yards deep and run it down teams throat. Did you play at APSU, if so what position did you play?

Well being an APSU alumn (graduate Dec.12) I am gonna start the recruiting right now. I would recommend pursuing a scholarship there; I know they are not the biggest/best program but he would have a great chance to play early and often. Also, the school is right down the road so catching games would be very convient even though I am sure you wouldnt mind driving to Egypt to watch him play. Finally I beleive the program is on the rise w/ the latest coach despite a disappointing season. Having said that, if he can get to a more prominent school by all means jump on it. The thing he will get at APSU will be a great chance to play and a college education. Good luck though however it works out, there is plenty of time to worry about all of that as there is still a season to play.....

Yeah that is what I was thinking while reading this but as already stated I remember someone mentioning that they had been lifting somewhere else other than school. Also to answer Sheps question as far as waiting a couple of weeks; I say the sooner the better and if they are taking initiative and doing it on their own then that is even better.....

When I refer to weight training I am talking about muscular strength and endurance, not just strength. I believe JBS is already a well conditioned team and that is not why they lost Friday IMHO.....

I have heard it called alot but called as "illegal motion" or "false start", not "offensive encroachment.....

What happens in the weight room in the off-season can really make a difference in highschool. I do not know how the program is in JBS but according to some it is not that great. More so b/c the facilities are not the greatest not b/c the coaches are not trying. This is all specualtion as I stated though as this is what I have been told from the JBS fan base. When we won state in 1993 we got a very nice facility; maybe JBS can atleast get something better than they have now. Anyway great year and good luck next year.....

Yeah the guy I am student teaching for this semestar applied for the job and he says the same thing. He also said that the facilities, benefits, gates, and fan support is 2nd to none. I am sure you already have somewhat of an idea about how those things are though.....

Yeah I know; sorry if it sounded like I was correcting your assessment of how Maryville played and looking back on it that is exactly how it sounded. The Maryville fan base has been very gracious/classy in defeat. I thought that this Hillsboro team had a very legitimate chance to win this year, especially after beating Henry Co. the way they did. HC had the best offense in 4A this year w/ the exception of maybe Hillsboro IMHO.....
