What a difference a couple years make. When Riverdale beat Lavergne 110 to 8 or something like that. All you could read on Coach T was how terrible Riverdale was for running up the score. The integrity of the game has been compromised. How could the Riverdale coach beat them so bad? Just terrible sportsmanship.

Good post. This is a long thread, but you may be the first person to hit on the real problem of this topic. Majority of 50/50 and judgment calls? Something to think about. On top of preparing for another team, coaches have to worry about a fair called game? Two teams, both trying to lose, takes away the impact of the officials on the game. I was at the game and no one was angry at the refs. Interesting. Win or lose, a fair called game solves these type games.

News Sentinel Please stop talking about Cheyenne Hooper!

Two weekends ago in Murfreesboro, I watched Cheyenne play travel basketball for Nike KY Premier's top team. She was outstanding in the three games I saw her play. If she wants to play college basketball, she can just about pick her school. I think she is that good. -
I hear Mattie Cantrell will be a manager for the Lady Vols next year. Good luck Mattie.

Jaycee is pretty good, but I'm not sure she can out shoot her Momma. I'm looking forward to see how she does at Kentucky and wish her all the luck.

Science Hill vs. Morristown West

SH was a very strong team and MW, I'm told is very good. After watching Blackman tonight, everyone in AAA is playing for the Silver ball. Now, if some ref kicks two or three Blackman players out of the region final or sub-state game that could change. -

I will miss seeing Cheyenne play basketball. I felt she was a big time player. Just like Madelyn Hutson at Ravenwood. Would have loved to see how good they both could have become. -
Best Players from the Old NIL (Nashville Interscholastic League)

Yes, I was thinking John Griffin played at East and later in the NFL. I just remember seeing or hearing about someone else from East that went to Murray State and also played in the NFL. Sometime in the early 60's I think. -

Need some help. Someone went to East HS and I think played college ball at Murray State. Went on and played for the Denver Broncos in the NFL. Who would that be? John Griffin comes to mind, but I don't think he played at Murray State. -

Rachel Bell is a really fine player, so is Ty Petty, Sally McCabe, Callie Hackett, Brook Copeland, Hannah Goolsby to name a few more that wouldn't be out of place if they were on the list.

Anna Hammaker and Cheyenne Hooper back at CAK
wbbwatcher replied to fan1112's topic in Girls Basketball
You're right HoopMD. If they live in TN they can't play for an Ohio team in any NCAA sanctioned viewing events. They can play for any team in KY,VA,NC,GA,AL,MS,AR and MO. I would like to watch them play, so keep this board posted on where they play travel ball. Thanks. -

Will they be playing their travel ball with Flight Silver? -
Riverdale could stay in house and name an assistant.

It will be interesting to see which way Riverdale will jump. Randy Frazier, now that would be something, but not happening.
-
Jimbo44, you forgot to mention the annual migration of freshmen and transfers to other schools. It's just about that time of year and in some cases it can have an effect on district races.
-
Will the students be on spring break? Will you need a parking pass to park in the Green lots around campus?
-
Whats the starting time?
-
If they work hard in practice and put some extra time in shooting, they will improve. High school ball is all about the tournament and peaking at the right time.
-
Good choice. Going to Kentucky made Ron Mercer quite a bit of money.

I see no reason for these rules. It can be handled in a much simpler way. Just chain your best players around there ankles so they can't run. The high school coach where they are zoned when they are born will have the only key. Just unlock the shackles for practice and games, then just slip them back on after. Maybe for the female players you could have them wear a veil. If they are really good players the other coaches couldn't tell who was whipping them out on the court and they wouldn't know who to recruit. These two rules have a Russian or maybe China feel about them. I love living here in the good ole USA and don't really care for those two places.
