man, its been like that long since we played eh wildcat (if i recall you graduated about the same time I did), seems like it was just a year or two ago! I think the best thing that happened to CA football was the youth program that was put into place. When I was younger, in Maury county there wasn't really a strong peewee/youth football league at all, at least for most of us that played - so for a lot of us, our first year of playing was 7th grade (when middle school starts at CA). Now, the kids are coming into middle school with a wealth of experience, and its showing both their, and in the high school program.

To be fair, a really good offense has a tendency to make defenses look worse than they really are.

He certainly didn't in the first half. The few times he has run the ball, he has hit the line of scrimmage standing straight up. and his throws have been extremely errant

pick 6 for CA with less than 2 minutes left in half. Eagleville may have negative total yards, 1 first down. went for 2 again, missed it. 18-0. although score isn't showing, this game is being completely dominated. Never want to let a team hang around though.

at the low levels (or probably any level really - but magnified at lower levels), if you are THAT much better than everyone else, it doesn't matter what they plays being called are. Run, pass doesn't matter. What's more important is flexibility. If you are inflexible, you are not a good coach, fact. A coaches job is to take whatever he is given, and get the best out of them. ****I am not speaking of anyone in particular here, not LC coach or anyone, for all I know he has no one that can throw the ball, so he is putting them in the best position to win.

I think part of the point of a poll, is to predict what the rankings will be at the end of the year, as much as who are the best teams right now. So from a voting perspective, it makes no sense to put 5 teams from 1 region in the top 5, as they will beat each other up, and only 1 will come out of there eventually. It's not like college football where rankings (kinda) matter (outside top 4 at least), and they are a big reasoning why they go to the bigger bowls.

Was a good game, I think LC is going to have to find some kind of passing game to make a run in the playoffs.

Although this was once true, I do not believe that it is anymore.

It's "clean" if you hit them in the chest. Thats why the phrase "head on a swivel" came about. Part of me says you need to be aware of your surroundings. But really, teeing off on someone is probably not necessary, when you can just as well do a 'basketball' type screen on them.

It has been growing process. The side SP is on was formally the home side probably since the school first had a football team when it was a military school. I guess it was 3 or 4 years ago when the other side was added.

Hope the young lad who got cracked blocked is ok. I suspect this type of block should be looked at, at the high school level. I know college and pro have cut it out of the game.
