  1. Thanks Jamie In one of your post I noticed that it was time for Trinity to show if they were a contender of pretender. We are trying to be a contender. Our teams need to hook up next season in some tournament. Maybe we could work this out.
  2. Come on Thelma we both know the coaches already have a small book about each of our teams. Looking forward to playing a great team in you guys. You have had a tremendous season.
  3. Jamie Vailes 4 year starter 6'0" Shoots inside or outside lead the team last year in 3 point % Can post and play inside or out. MVP player of Regional Tournament. Katie Henderson Senior 4 year starter PG. Plays inside and out. Handles the ball well, makes good decisions. MVP of District Tournament. Also played Softball on TCA's State Championship Team last season. Signed with ETSU Brittany Yates Ditto of the above except for being a Junior. 3 year starter likewise for the Softball and Basketball program. leads the basketball team in steals. Can post and play inside and out. Desarai Washington Junior Also quite an athlete Top recruit in track. 3rd in State 100 hurdles last year. Quick hands also with a deft shooting touch. Will always beat you to the basket. Cricket Glenn sophomore and 2 year starter. Plays inside and outside. Can shoot the 3 as well. Strong on the inside. Last year MVP of District Tournament. Voted Jackson Sun Freshman of the year in West Tennessee. Off the bench 3 good young players in Shelby Cummings, Marie Yarbro, and her sister Mary Elizabeth Yarbro. All three of these subs have had games where they have been in double figures. in fact all the starters have at one time or another been the high scorer in several games. We spread the scoring around pretty good. Even though we have not been to the State Tournament with have competed in big games at the younger levels. TNT State Champions in 2003 and 2004. I believe we are ready to play. Good luck Lady Lions.
  4. I like your thinking here except for the outcome of the championship game. Why do you give TCA such a chance?

  6. JUST GOT A PEEK AT POINTGUARD12 PREDICTIONS FOR THE BRACKETOLOGY OF THE STATE TOURNAMENT AT JIM314. YOU ARE NOW PICKING COLLINWOOD AS THE TEAM TO BEAT. IN YOUR LAST TOP TEN YOU HAD TCA AS A NUMBER ONE. WHAT DID WE DO WRONG???
  7. Just wanted to congratulate the TCA lady lions on their first ever win of both the District Title for the regular Season, going undefeated with a 10- 0 record, and also winning the District Tournament championship in the same year. Good luck in the Region Tournament and continue to play hard.
  8. My Bad I pushed the wrong button and then had to edit. Sorry. How about those Richland girls. They are having a great season.
  9. Auntkim that is a good question to ask. Obviously their are many good Single A lady basketball teams in the state this year, and any team that has won 20 + games are to be congratulated. TCA has been one of those schools. They have played a pretty competitive schedule against good teams in both A and AA. They have not lost a single A game as of yet and two of their 3 losses have come at the hands of AA power Milan who currently is ranked number 5 in the state. We have played and won by double digits over both McKenzie and West Carroll who are 1 and 2 in District 13 . We have beaten SBEC by 20+ who have been ranked in the top 10 in Division II. We have won against good AA teams such as Southside, USJ, and Gibson County. We enjoy playing good teams. West Tennessee has had some good teams over the past few years with Trenton a state champion and Madison Academic as recently as last year losing to eventual winner Forrest in a close game. We believe we can compete. So don't overlook us Mr. Roper. This is a fun time of year for all these girls in the state who have worked to get their teams to this level Good luck to all.
  10. Final Score Riverside 14 13 7 20 54 Scotts Hill 6 13 16 14 49
  11. TCA 62 Riverside 43 Box was Riverside 14 8 10 11 TCA 15 13 15 19
  12. Muffin I would be interested in your take of this game (TCA and SCOTTS HILL) and the Jackson Co. and Clarkrange game last night. You seem to have a good knowledge of all the statewide teams.
  13. First of all congratulations on a great season so far for the ladys' team at Riverside. You guys have a very nice facility and do a good job when visitors come to your gym. This district is very competitive more so than a lot of people realize and it to be expected that in tough physical games where something important is on the line that tempers may flare. Take for instance the incident late in the 4th quarter in the Tuesday's night game with TCA where the double technical was called. In the heat of that moment a little chest bumping event occurred from one Lady Panther due in likelyhood to the intensity of this game. Certainly that would not be considered Sportsmanlike conduct. It is regrettable that it happened and most would overlook this and consider this as one of those things that occur in intense games. Respect and sportmanship is a twosided coin. Both teams need to Respect each other. The girls at TCA had no malicious intent nor neither do we believe that was the case with the ladys from Riverside. We think our district is as good as any other in the state and you guys are a big reason why as well as Adamsville, JCS, Madison, and Scott's Hill. Continued good success and we look forward to seeeing another good game with you at our gym
  14. Should be a great game!!! Congratulations on a big win last night. I understand the inside game was a big part in the win according to the Jackson Sun. Good Luck on Friday!!!
  15. These are all good teams including Jackson County however TCA I believe can play with any of these 6. Their only two loses have come at the hands of 2 2A schools one being Dyer County when the Cupples girl was hot and scored 30+ points against us. The other was against Milan who is in the top 10 in 2A. We got off to a slow start against them but were in that game as late as the fourth quarter as the score was 30-32 until Poston made a 5 point unaswered run. Since then we have won every district game by double digits against quality teams such as Scotts Hill who would be in a lot of peoples top 15 in 1A. We have won over two good 2A schools also, in Jackson Southside, currently number 2 in their district and Gibson County a school that has a lot of young talent that has not developed yet. Balanced scoring in every position makes it hard to choose who to shutdown with every starter being the leading scoring for the team at some point during the season. We have inside height with 2 players Cricket Glenn at 6'0 and Jamie Vailles at 6' 1" who play tough defensively as well as outside skilled players who know how to defend and score. Don't overlook us
  16. As to TCA and Gleason matchup I believe that would be a great game. TCA spreads the points around in their offense which often has 4 players in double figures. Last nights' game against JCS is a good example. Jaimie Vailes the senior forward had 16 pts. Cricket Glenn and Desarai Washington had 11 each, and Britanny Yates and Katie Henderson had 8 and 6 respectively for basically 3 quarters of play. They led JCS by 28 going into the final quarter where quality subs finished off the game. Each of these young ladies have had games where they were the high scorer for the team. Gleason has Kayla as their main offensive player. They play great fundamental dont beat yourself basketball. Both teams believe in defense and I don't think it would be a high scoring game. Thanks for the good post
  17. I agree with greenfieldfan this is a well thought out Poll. Trinity Christian has a big matchup tonight with Madison Academic. Madison knows how to play us well. Should be a good game.
  18. Man was I wrong. Great effort Westview and freshman Amber Rechis.
  19. I dont think this game will be that close. Roney, the Reedy's, Williams, and Butler make a awesome combination. They are jst to good. Obion by 15.
  20. Jennie Lee has developed every year that I have seen her play. She does play strong and hard in the paint and has some good post moves. I beleive she has a younger sister that is going to be a good player also. Is that right?
  21. I was there. That was a fun day. You all had a great group of young talent and now all that hard work is paying off. Ivy is greatly missed but is concentrating on her softball skills. Great kid with a lot of talent. We did enjoy that trip thanks for remembering.
  22. TCA is trying to make it to the next level in Basketball and has a team lead by two four year starters in Katie Henderson and Jaimie Vailes. They are joined by Britanny Yates who plays guard and power forward who is a Junior 3 year starter and Desarai Washington also a Junior. Katie and Britanny played on the softball team which won the Class A State Championship and Desi has tremendous speed finishing 3rd in the State in the 100meter hurdles. Cricket Glenn is the Post and is a sophomore. Cricket made newcomer of the year as a freshman for West Tennesse. Cricket played with Caitlyn Dudley and Shanice McElrath and Shanna Hurley on a Rick Smith MAYB league a couple of summers ago and I believe that is probably a connecting factor why we on on your schedule this year. This will be our first time to play Gibson County and we are looking forward to playing such a quality team. You guys play in one of the strongest 2A Distrticts in the state and playing you can only help us compete better hopefully late in the Post Season if we can make it there. Last years run took us to a substate game against Greenfield which we lost in a fairly close contest. Greenfield had a lot of 3 point shooting talent and have improved their play in the post. We hope to play Gibson County a quality game. Thanks for asking about our team See you a t the game.
  23. Congratulations on a big district win. Union City is a quaility Basketball team. In fact your district has several good teams including of course Gleason and Lake County. I see you guys have developed the inside game with Megan. My daughter was fortunate to work out with your team this summer when Coach Mcmillin came for a camp. She really benefitted from his instruction and I think he also helped some of your younger 3 point shooters as well. Coach Trevathan should be congratulated for bringing in such good Instructors. Looking forward to the post season and good luck.
